Hopefully I'll see it by May 1. I've been spending most of my time at a couple of other fiesta st forums, but this is the only one with a PNW-specific subforum. FrankenFiesta will replace my departed Focustein, although won't get nearly the surgery that poor thing had. But: I have plans.

I have yet to see a Fiesta ST in the wild. Having said that, I never saw that many SVT Focuses either even after 3 years of production.

Thank you.

Welcome man...did you have a Focus SVT before?
I did. A description here: Link to a Focus of the Month thing way back in 2007

What it looked like when done (6-point cage, FSWerks camber plates, and APR wing):

Not going anywhere near that level of deformation with the Fiesta, but I have an Excel spreadsheet in progress...

Welcome and can't wait to hear the details
Well, you know from our conversations on fiestast.org that I've purchased two items from sponsors of this very forum and the car is not even here yet:

  • 2J Racing catback exhaust (sitting in garage)
  • Team Dynamics Pro Race 1.2 15x7 track wheels in anthracite (arrive in July; to get NT01s in 205/50-15)
I'm waiting on the Ford Racing-authorized Mountune MP215 package (since it will retain warranty coverage of the engine bits) before making any engine tune changes. Then there is a pile of recreational laping-related adjustments (from a Cobb rear motor mount to Motul RBF 600 to race pads, and on and on) that will come as needed or as they become available. No tracking until end of summer soonest.

One real (not bolted on or downloaded) modification I'm planning is a set of Porsche brake cooling fins. Worked great on Focustein. They do generate a little drag I suspect, but since I do not plan any kind of big brake kit upgrade, I'll need something to manage the heat generated by race pads when standing on the the go slow pedal.

Here's an image:

And a description: Notes on attachment, performance, etc.

That's a badass SVTF...I think I've seen either you or someone posted pictures of your Focus on FF before. I had a 2000 Focus. Great to see another coverted Focus owner.

Well, I loved my SVTF, but this Fiesta ST feels like what that car should have been from the beginning. The changes will be minor (comparatively) and will remain a (relatively) drivable street car. I never really considered the Focus ST. Cars just seem to be getting bigger and bigger, while I want smaller.

I remember seeing the Focus SVT back in 2001 and thought Ford had a winner on it's had, then I found out it only had 170hp. At least this time around Ford did it right.

It was not so much the HP that hurt that car, it was the torque. It was a pure momentum car. With the stock engine, it made about 151 HP/133 lb-ft TQ at the wheels (by Mustang dyno). Even with the MAHLE/Cosworth Powerworks, charge air-cooled supercharger, my SVT Focus only ever could muster was about 215 HP/185 TQ. Some tunes adjustments netted a little more, but I always wanted a conservative A/F mix since my aim is more enduro-like, rather than drag strip or dyno optimization. If I can make it through a track day with no radically high temps, detonation, or CELs, it's all good. it was a lot better with the supercharger, but I'm very happy that this new car has FI from the factory and has driving dynamics built for it.

Frankenfiesta finally landed.

Waiting in garage for the all-seasons to arrive at the local Discount Tire shop, then off go the stock tires (now with 19 miles on them...7 prior to drive home from dealer) and hopefully I can get them sold (still have the little remnant "sprue nubs" from molding process). Obviously won't get much, but hopefully a little to offset the replacements.

It doesn't work for me either, says you have to be a member to view the picture. Maybe attach the image here?

Hmmm. I'll work on it.

<I think it's fixed. Set the image to public on my google (used to be picasa) account...>

Welcome! I'm down in Auburn not too far from you, also have a silver FiST. First person I've seen in the Puget Sound area on these forums.

Yeah. Not many around here. The only one I've seen other than at a dealership is owned by a fellow on fiestast.net who lives in Lynnwood. He purchased my stock tires.
