The Fiesta ST comes with the SecuriLock Passive Anti-Theft system and Perimeter Alarm as standard equipment.

What is the SecuriLock Passive Anti-Theft system (PATS)?
When the vehicle is started, the on-board computer sends out an RF signal which is picked up by the transponder in the key. The transponder then returns a unique RF signal to the vehicle's computer, giving it confirmation to start and continue to run. This all happens in less than a second. If the on-board computer does not receive the correct identification code certain components, such as the fuel pump and on some the starter, will remain disabled. The keys have a radio frequency transponder embedded in the plastic Head with a unique electronic identification code.

What is the Perimeter alarm?
Guards the vehicle's doors, hood and trunk/lift gate. When an unauthorized entry occurs, the system triggers and will:– Flash the head lamps, parking lamps and theft-indicator lamp on the instrument panel. Sound the horn. Note: It will not be triggered by breaking glass or entry into the vehicle through a window. The perimeter anti-theft alarm system is designed to work with the factory-installed Remote Keyless Entry System.SecuriLock? passive anti-theft ignition system.

Sadly most thieves already know this information, its the law abiding citizens that don't know what coverage their factory alarm systems offer.

Hello all,

Then what is the Vehicle Security System, Part No: EE8Z-19A361-A that is offered in the Ford Accessories website? Is it an addition to what we got in our cars, the keyless entry system or is it something that replaces this factory installed keyless entry system?

Thank you

Anyone remember the anti-theft device from the original Robocop Movie?
