Wait On My ST Order vs. Get One Off the Lot

So in mid April I ordered a blue ST the waay I want it with just recaro package. Its looking like mid to late July at the earliest. I am getting anxious as I have been driving an old Mini in the meantime and I hate it. The dealer just lowered the price of an almost fully loaded Orange ST on their lot to $200 more than the one I ordered. Orange was my 2nd choice as color.

1. I am waiting to hear back but do you think they would let me change my mind on the order and get the loaded one?
2. What are your opinions on this if I can?

1. I think you'll have to deal with your salesman to cancel your order but everything is possible.
2. If the color is really your second choice and you're ok with the price and option, why not? Personnally, I was in the same situation but with a red one. However, I wanted black at any cost so I waited 3.5 months...

If the one you ordered is exactly as you want then I'd wait for that one to come in. Use the price of the orange one (discount % from MSRP) as a negotiation point when your car comes in.

Bro, I ordered in mid April as well. I feel ya on the wait, it's rough. You are driving an old Mini, I am rockin' a 97 Taurus so no feels for ya on that one. I would wait it out and like Ronbo suggested, maybe haggle the price a bit. We've waited this long, might as well get exactly what you wanted.

Agree with others here...you've waited this long, so don't give up. You will get the FiST exactly the way you want it. Hang in there a bit longer and enjoy all that Mini has to offer in the meantime.

I waited a really long time with early order and production delays it was 7 months from order t mid oct delivery. Not sure how many times my wife told me "if you don't get it the way you want you will be sorry." She was right of course and once it got here I smile every time I slide into those Recaro's .. Wait is worth it to me

If it's your second choice I would get it as long as there's no regrets down the line. My second choice was Silver and I knew I would be happy if the White one I ordered wasn't available.

I waited and ordered the car exactly how I wanted it (Molten Orange with matching Orange recaros) If you plan on keeping the car for any amount of time what's a few more weeks/months compared to the years you'll own the car. My advice is to wait it out and get exactly what you want.
