Hey all,

I just finished preparing this video about why your Fiesta ST needs a Rear Motor Mount upgrade.
I don't normally make this type of video so go easy on me :)

Anyways if you've wanted to know why you need that RMM upgrade, I put together this video explanation of why it should be one of the next upgrades on your list.

How about engine vibration and noise with the new motor mount. I replaced mounts on a Mazda Protege one time and noticed an increase in transmitted vibration and and stiffness in shifting that was not desirable.

How about engine vibration and noise with the new motor mount. I replaced mounts on a Mazda Protege one time and noticed an increase in transmitted vibration and and stiffness in shifting that was not desirable.
I addressed that from 2:05-2:30 in the video with a clip; the increase in vibration is not bad at all.

About the worst it gets is sometimes creeping at low RPM (under 700) in gear it feels almost like I'm going to stall even when it's not going to stall out.

Very mild increase in vibration. I should state that though I may look externally OK in that video my hips are held together with a bunch of stainless steel screws and hardware (open book fracture, lh secral fracture, rh secral fracture, rh acetabular fracture) - this means that i am pretty sensitive to vibration/extreme harshness - like after I recovered and could walk again I tried operating my Suzuki Katana 600 and the 600cc DOHC I4 harmonized with the metal in my hips and I ached for days after - and why i had to give up the bike i loved so much

so what i'm getting at is that even though I'm sensitive, the vibration doesn't bother me (or my lady for that matter) and tbh it's made shifting smoother because the motor's not jumping around when i shift.

I'm not just makin bs up to sell these things, like, legit, I have been thrilled with the improvement they've made in the car and that's been the general consensus amongst those who've fitted one.

Here's the great thing: Cobb offers a satisfaction guarantee. If you get one of these, install it, and after driving around for a day or so, still hate it, you can return it for a full refund, and swapping between stock and cobb is a snap.

You can also go the powerflex route or 2j racing, all of these will be a great improvement to the car, but you have to be careful not to go too harsh and require a bit more work to swap in/out. As a direct bolt on solution, I think the Cobb engineers knocked it out of the park with these.

Not sure this was addressed but is there a reason the stock motor mount is as loose as it is? And do you think this Cobb mount would cause any warranty issues down the road with some dealers? I just ask because I haven't put a mod on my car yet, granted I've only had it about a month, but it makes me nervous if something were to happen with the engine or trans and ford not cover it.

I have had no issues with mine; they don't seem to care.
If you started complaining about trans vibration though I could see it being a hurdle. but since it isn't a true motor mount and doesn't actually bear the weight of the engine, they'd be hard pressed to prove that it caused any sort of issue.

No reason the motor mount is as loose as it is besides a) cheapness b) noise vibration harshness concerns. Yeah, the car vibrates less with the OEM one, but if you're asking if there is a mechanical/engineering reason the RMM is soft, no, there isn't anything like that.

Simply because the bigger concern with the company was NVH. Cheap part it isnt just different concerns.

I figured it was just cheaper part or less vibration. I work in the parts world also and sometimes I have to ask that question. I appreciate the feedback! I'll have to order me one!

Installed the Cobb RMM on Saturday. Since I am still in the break-in mileage I have not done much hard driving but I definitely feel a improvement in finding the gears with less movement of the drive train. I do notice a engine vibration change under idle but its just different type vibration not worse. The RMM was easier then I taught to install was done in 15 minutes. I did watch the Cobb install video first and noticed a slight difference, OEM RMM had no ring spacer to swap over as shown in the video.

OK, sorry to bump an old thread, but it was one of the first results in my search. I love my COBB RMM. Definitely a great upgrade. One thing, and it's not a huge deal, but I do hear a different vibration from the exhaust now, just when cold at low speed or idle. It's just louder, not bad. I wonder, and my question is, would better exhaust hangers help? Probably get new ones soon anyway, but wanted to hear if anyone knows.

Well, since this is stickied, might as well un-zombie this and ask if anyone knows how much the stock one was upgraded in '16 or '17? I have a '17 and my stock one doesn't seem too bad, but was also thinking about an insert to help if I'm going to eventually be stage 2...
