Plasti Dip gone mad

Dropped my ST off at the dealer for it's first service and this was at the front of the lot.
Wasn't sure what they had done to it at first so I touched it and it had this rubbery texture.
Looks like they had the whole car dipped - wheels too! Bad crazyness![unbelieveable]

from what the camera shows, kinda looks like a wrap more than plastic dip... not sure plastic dip would give a gloss like that

But how did it look up close? Was there any over-spray?
Definitely not a wrap. It was sprayed on. No overspray - they did a pretty good masking job. There was a very small patch just underneath the lower window trim on the rear driver's side door that looked like somebody had scratched it. I felt it and it was kind of rubbery and you can see the Molten Orange paint underneath.
When I go back to get my car I'll ask them what the heck they did to it. It's just very bizarre.

It was probably matte clear dip; to give the car a "matte" finish.

I had a friend dip his car adding the glossifier (or maybe it was the pearlescent) and it was similar.

Trust me, it's not a wrap. I've seen lots of wrapped cars and none of them have the rubbery feel this thing has.

You are thinking about plati-dip in aerosal cans, they sell it in straight gallon containers that you apply with a normal spray gun like automotive paint. Starts around 70$ a gallon, and you can have metallic, flat, pearlescent, etc. Even custom colors mixed all yourself.

My friend did his Miata with 3 gallons. Full car 4 coats, plus 4 additional coats to the front for 8 total.

Its AWESOME stuff.

No worries! Trust me it really is great stuff, we got started doing it to random things and realizing how strong it was. Looked into it and found the dipyourcar website and now he is thinking about becoming a DYC installer locally.
