Has anyone, anywhere ordered ATP's big turbo kit?

Any size they offer? Anyone ? I was so pumped when it came out and not a single person I know of has ordered it or plans to order it. Its even reasonably priced and track/dyno proven.

I think it highlights that all the people that get in threads and ask for dynos and track times, don't actually have any intention of buying anything... Even other people read it and maybe get scared away.

I realize Rick has posted some good info about up coming other turbo options ( stock upgraded turbo and EFR kit), but ATP's kit is reasonably priced and ready to ship. Why has no one bought it? Even 265whp at 7,000rpms would be pretty epic in this little monster.

Ideas? Opinions? Suggestions for them?

My only suggestion for them would be open "disclosure". Show the car. Show it at the track. So its tunes and data logs. And have a presence on the forums, even if its a small limited presence.

But besides that... Looks like they did everything right. Dyno'd stock and every different size turbo. Track tested every step up in turbo upgrades... And its even reasonable at $1900-$2400 and uses stock Downpipe flanges.

Their lack of presence on the forum makes it tough for people to spend that kind of money without asking questions...the worst for me is the lack of any safe tune that would allow people to install the kit and run it without blowing up their engines.

I very much get that. The thing is..... If one person bought the kit, logged it with the stage3 ots tune, then pay'd alex from stratifed, randy, freaktune, or about any tuner $150 to E-tune it, then that could be used by everyone with access tuner. And to anyone looking at a kit like that, your gonna want access tuner.

Maybe.... If ATP added $300 to the price and sold it with a tune, would that be better or worse ? $2500 would still be reasonable.

I'm with you though... I'm epicly turned off by their lack of forum love.

I think for ATP it would be wise to get on here and release some much needed info and data logs etc....but I still think they will be in the same NO SALE boat as now. If this Kit was through COBB people may take interest as most (not all) on these forms only copy what everyone else uses. Your average person on here does not have the skills to even install this kit. jbh

True. If it said, "Cobb" on it, people would be complaining for 4 pages about how its first 40 kits sold out too fast and now they can't wait to send cobb money for theres, lol. Cobb has a great product, but its not the only company out there, lol.

You know i'm bias about the install, lol. But I realize not EVERYONE puts food on the day everyday spinning wrenches like me.

i am interested in ATP kit, but until i get all the supporting mods to go with it, ill have to wait. i do like how Pumaspeed did it. you can just click 1 button and boom, all you need is shipped to your door. minus the rad upgrade which will be needed i have no doubt.

I'm looking for a complete kit if possible. if not it will take me more time to decide on individual parts.
then get a tune.

if any vendor is reading this. look at Pumaspeed website. copy paste for North America. Then get a big glove to catch my money.

So if they sold a package with intercooler, pipes, turbo, downpipe, turbo for like $4,000 with a tune give/take?

Lol. No one get me wrong.... I don't work for ATP or have any ties. I'm just shocked that the only car with their kit is.... There car. Lol

I for one think you both are wrong in regards to why no one has purchased/installed one of atp kits. My .02c is the fist hasn't drawn a lot of people with the disposal funds and wherewithal to mod these little pocket rockets. Just look at the board there is what only 3 more seriously then minor bolt on parts modded fists right? Rodmoes and he does more hpde/autocross/track stuff, sekred the Aussie, and raamaudio who is forging ahead with a modded/Frankensteined turbo as we speak.
Just about everyone else is pondering the imo miserable cai/hai that are available, the few in number and all look the same pretty much tip wise exhaust options. and then pondering can I run a stage 3 tune without an ic????
Meanwhile razorlab/sst&sour are also helping grow the platform which to me at least over here in na is very new.
I think the demographic appeal&attributes of this car attract a few car nuts. but really it's mostly people wanting something with a little practicality, decent mpg and at a reasonable price point.

I agree with you guys, people like Cobb products because of the reputation they build on and off the forums. They take the time to answer questions and share info which helps to build their customer base. ATP needs to work on their transparency, most of the news they release seems to be one-sided and there is no way for the mass to interact with them. A lot of the news people are reading on this forum are posted from other members and not ATP. If they want to earn customers they'll need to work for it. I don't want to do the leg work on where to go for a tune, etc. if I'm going to drop over $2k on their kit.

Well, Cobb has a strong reputation and a name that's well known. They put themselves out into the communities that they support, and their products are generally well received because they don't skimp on the leg-work. I would rather wait for a proven intake from them than cheap out with a company that slapped a warm-air intake together and rushed it to market for sales.

I agree that it probably wouldn't sell, but not because it isn't proven. I think it's more about the fact that these vehicles are new and relatively untested, and that scares people. Realistically speaking, there are usually not a 'lot' of people that would be interested in a BT anyways. Just looking at some of the dyno charts, I could really care less to wait an additional 2k rpm for my power-even if it means that there will be even more from there to redline.

Granted, that's just my personal opinion, but I don't think many people will end up with a BT on these cars for 3-5 years. There will always be a handful, but I think most 'serious' modders that would want BT went with the FoST from the start.

i am not saying everyone would jump on board. im saying if there was an all in one ready to rock option they would get my money.

i would love to be one and done. pick turbo, drop down menu, now chose IC, drop down menu, now choose exhaust and so on.

then i sit back and wait for shipping.

Envyist. I'm with you. But... On the cheap car thing... The srt4 was a cheap car. And cost $24k. Those guys were swapping on big turbos and making 11sec passes before I even got around to buying one the second year they sold them. The focus guys are doing tons of big turbos too. I do understand the platform is new, but I just expected a better response :)

If you google "chevy cruise" some of those guys have ported there intake manifolds, lol. A CHEVY CRUISE !! Lol.

I also know FOR A FACT the fiat 500 guys have a frankenstein turbo out there that works ;)

Just... With this being the entry level, drivers car it is, and from ford, I thought "it is on" when the ATP kits dropped. Turns out... The only thing that was "on" was the plause button, lol.

If someone wants to sponsor me, I'll buy one (with your money) and be extremely transparent, lmao.

I was close to pulling the trigger on one of these till something else presented itself I even had a tuner lined up and a Est. on price of said Email tune... But Life has a way of getting in the way. I Agreed it it came with a basic get you running tune it would help as with any upgrade to get the most out of it you need to spend the resources (time and money) to dial it in.. I even asked ATP about a tune from COBB that they used to get their numbers with. But they came back with the old developmental tune and when I asked COBB about getting it from them they flat out said Sorry no deal.. I can understand both side as ATP is a part supplier and COBB would not want to give out a tune that might cause them and the customer heartburn with all the different parts options that might mess with a Developmental beta tune.. oh well maybe somebody will step up into the void and make a killing on it ..

Look at what RAAM audio has done and what D1_JL is doing with his car.
I'm only partway to full bolt on, but the money's spent, and I'll be full-bolt-on by the end of the year as the parts come out.

What turns me off to the idea of a turbo kit is that it's an instant warranty voider. Even if I got a Cobb one free I'd be VERY hesitant about installing it on my daily as there's almost no data. Yeah it's fast and yeah we know the turbo's the bottleneck...

I agree though the lack of forum interest is weird, I reached out to them about wholesale like 4 months ago and never heard back.

I'm really close to picking one up. I don't know if I really will though. I agree, even the smallest one would make the FiST great. The stock turbo is a huge limiter for power.

I have pretty much upgraded the turbos on all my cars. The cars that come with pretty small turbos obviously showing the biggest differences. So this makes the FiST very tempting to upgrade.

For example, my infamous (in the Mitsubishi community) 2010 Lancer Ralliart Sportback. From stock turbo to upgraded and me tuning it, HUGE difference. That thing was quite the sleeper, the second dyno graph comparison makes me giggle every time.

Only reason I didn't bite on ATP is because: 1.) Didn't have all my bolt-ons and; 2.) When I had them all I had heard of EFR. Had EFR never made it to my ear, I would have an ATP kit slapped on already.

What if.... You could have a "bigger turbo", while keeping the warranty mostly :D lol.
