Trying something new

Hey, all,

I'm new to the Fiesta ST, as I just signed on one today. I've been eyeing my new car for months as I work at a Ford dealership. I had the opportunity to drive both the FoST and the FiST extensively before deciding on a car. I used to drive a Lexus IS250 that was recently totaled out in a high speed rear end collision, the FiST is it's replacement.

I'm not new to performance cars or tuning as I owned two Supras back in high school and college. Front wheel drives and hot hatches in general are new to me.

So far I'm loving how well the FiST is laid out. The suspension and drivetrain are fantastic. I can peg the throttle to get me through a turn and it will pull the car right through without any over/understeer, and that's a weird feeling coming from Supras back in the day.

I'm looking forward to the fun I'll be having with the new daily driver.

Thanks, all. I'm definitely loving the car and planning mods.

Here's the plan. Stage 1 kit from Cobb first (this thing needs a RMM badly). Next up would be an FMIC, hardpipes, and a catted downpipe. I'm wanting to get to 230hp/260ftlbs eventually. I think much more than that and the car would be rough to drive daily and reliability would suffer a bit too. I'd like to go lighter as well, with lighter rims and some dry carbon parts. The sunroof could be replaced and I would never notice, same with a pinned race hood.

I'm looking forward to playing with this car more.

Something I'm researching before I go too far is weight distribution and what is optimum for the drivetrain. Still reading up on that though.
