Ok so I got a Molten Orange FiST. I love it. I mean I love every single bit of this car.
My only issue is the paint.
Not the color, like I said, I love every bit of this car and the point is the most beautiful color I have ever seen in my life. Everyone loves it and always compliment it. It's a head turner and I swear I can hear a few necks snap when people look at it when I go by.
My issue is that this paint is the most delicate paint I have ever dealt with.
I had a 2011 SES in yellow blaze. That thing served me for a year and I even bought it used. Yes it got its share of scratches and such, but my god, that paint was made of steel or something. I would drive it to shows in nashville and Lebanon and I even took it on a road trip to watch a Nascar race somewhere a state or two away. That thing held in like a BAWSS.
Now I get my hands on this beautiful FiST and I've had a few months now. I have about 5500 Miles on it and this thing has at least 5 LARGE chips/scratches I can show you in a heartbeat. I have a black spot in the bumper because a rock took out a chunk of paint but not the black basecoat/plastic.
from there I have a couple of chips in the hood. That's what's making me upset there. They are large and go all the way down to the metal.
I even tried to do a clear plastidip coat as doing a clearBra was NOT in the budget (jesus, those are expensive).
I got a few chips on the drivers side door (courtesy of the retard with a weedwacker in the GRAVEL AREA...I have recieved compensation for that already).
But I notice that with only these few miles on it, there are so many chips. I know that part of the reason is that i moved from working in a nearby area on a regular road to needing to take the highway every day. So that could be part of the issue, but my last Fiesta drove from Clarksville to Nashville on a weekly basis for shows.
So anyone know what the crap this paint is made of in comparison to the last generation of Fiesta?
It annoys the crud outta me and at this point I may just say **** it and do a wrap and hide away this divine looking paint.
