Tired of not having enough space? Do uou want to increase your carho capacoty by a noticeable amount? For free? Read on!

Tools needed:

-empty cargo hatch floor
-8mm socket and ratchet

Time required:
-2min

Difficulty:
-can do completely drunk in 3min.

STEP ONE:
Ok, so clean all that useless crap out of your hatch.

STEP TWO:
pull out your cargo floor. Its not secured in any way.

STEP THREE:
find the two rear feet that hold the cargo floor up. They are one with 1 each 8mm bolts. Remove them.

STEP FOUR:
chuck the cargo floor back in the hatch. It will rest on the tire. So its literally air ride now (ha...ha
...ha.....bad joke).

STEP FIVE:
throw all your useless crap back in the hatch, and enjoy a 5" deeper cargo area!

Done.

Thx ford for making a lifted hatch floor for no reason.

You can also get a standard Fiesta cargo liner that will slide right in there.

The extra space is so you can store the privacy cover down there when you're not using it. Kinda dumb, but I see how they got to the wasted space.

You can also fit the floor into the lower area without removing the blocks-that's why the bottom is curved. Place the front of the floor in and under the curved area, push the rear of the floor down onto the tire, then slide the floor towards the rear and it will secure under the hatch trim. Added bonus-it won't move around while you're driving.

What Dyn085 said, you can drop the floor to the bottom without removing anything.

I'm pretty sure the EU model doesn't have a spacer under the floor area....I'll check mine later.

RooSTer: did you make the inserts for the recessed areas (left and right) yourself, or were they purchased, please? I DO need some of those!

Thanks RooSTer, but the cargo mat's not what I was referring to.
The recesses/pockets to the left and right of the cargo mat in your photo, where you've stored your spray bottles/cloths, we have those recesses too in the EU model, but not the "retainers" you have, which appear to be OEM - they match the rest of the inside of the trunk?
So, the EU recesses are completely "open", which makes them pretty useless to store stuff in! Are the "retainers" you have USDM originals or something you made?

Those little side retainers are detachable from the panel too...maybe you can just order that part from a Ford dealer. All you need to do is get a utility knife and put some slits in the panel for those pieces to slide in.

When I had the Fiesta Movement ST, I had the cargo floor moved to the lowest position the day after I got it home. It was never in the up position for the 6 months I had the car.

Does this cargo liner accommodate for the spare tire. The stock trunk liner doesn't go flat for me with the spare in there. Or are you guys pulling that out?

I left my spare tire with the cargo liner on top. True it's not flat but it doesn't bother me. The liner actually saved my hatched from getting soaked. I had a three gallon Gatorade water (which was actually secured with bungee cords) tipped over when I took a turn too hard.

Thanks for the tips.

Also, is anyone else somewhat upset that you can't fit a bottle of Windshield washer fluid in the side compartment? This is a must for winter. I know I could jam one behind the front seats, but I keep a battery booster kit behind the passenger and 2 brush/scrapers behind the driver's seat. It's a shame.
