***Update 1/8/2014***

Final fitment and installation has been successfully completed!

Seibon says that the new CF hood design with heat extractors will be available for sale by the end of March....

Seibon has given me permission to post some recent "phone pics" they sent over to me a few weeks ago of the new hood design they already have completed for the FiST with integrated heat extractors....It looks like it may be a little longer before Seibon gets their "professional" photos completed for the new hood design and should be releasing much higher quality images soon....

MSRP $800...Expected release should be sometime end of March...

***Update*** 1/8/2015

Fitment successfully completed and no longer looking for test fitter...

12/30/2014

Seibon needs someone local for fitment test and has updated the incentives and is now willing to give 2 options now to get this done!

1) Customer comes in and allows us to use his/her car for 1-3 hours. We test fit the part and put the stock part back on. Customer does not need to buy anything. We are willing to pay $80 cash.

or...

2) Customer comes in and buys the item for 50% OFF of MSRP $800!... That's right no longer 15% off!.. 50% or ($400)! This would include a free basic install and even a free tshirt.

I can't even lie-I really like the looks of this. Definitely interested in seeing it on a car.

Easy enough to have the hood painted...I'm still considering if I'm going to paint mine...Although I also think this hood would look just as amazing in CF finish on a RaceRed FiST ...different strokes I suppose! :)

Perfect! I thought the Mustang GT style heat extractors would look good on the FiST hood and they do!

Seibon's New CF Hood Design

Seibon just sent over some new pics....

**Also if anyone is local to Seibon SoCal and may be interested in purchasing this new hood design (above) just give Ryan a call to schedule an appointment as they need to test fit the new hood for fitment. After arriving at Seibon and looking over the hood you can decide in person if you'd like to proceed forward...Seibon will offer 15% off (MSRP $800) along with free installation valued at $200 to the person willing to work with them on final test fitment...total cost for participant would be $680 including install**

The new hood design kinda reminds me of those seen on the Austin Martin DBS....

BoostBumps: This is one piece of bling I'd love to add to my car, BUT I definitely need to see it properly mounted before I could possibly layout the $$$. I'm wondering about hood pin location (if needed...I kind of like the Aerocatch locking pins), whether an OEM-like hood latch bracket is included, and how the hood stands off from the engine bay. The stock setup has a couple of 2+ inch rubber bumpers. Are those supported by this design? Thanks for any info.

All good questions....I would be asking the same! Siebon is "still" looking for someone willing to do test fitment...If I were closer to them (~ 2hrs away) I would go over and take some closer pics and have them do a final fitment on mine...

As I understand it as with most Seibon hoods they all come with OEM hood latch brackets installed and use the 2 OEM adjustable rubber standoffs (bumpers) to balance the hood's front end....Locking pins are not necessary however you'll notice that Seibon does recommend their use on all hoods they offer for liability reasons as they have no control over the customers actual installation...

As soon as they find someone willing to test fit many of these questions will probably be answered for us!

I'll repost this again for greater visibility ...

Thanks, man. Look forward to seeing one installed! Also, I'd like to make a request. Please hold off (or encourage Seibon to hold off) on a group buy until we see how the fitment goes. If I get one, it would be very nice to take advantage of a group buy discount, but I can't in good conscience shell out that kind of $$$ until I know what I'm getting into. I feel reasonably secure about how the Quaife and BC Racing installs will go, but this one is a little unclear just yet.

I posted your stuff to its own thread and stuck it so it may get better play time and result in helping find a tester ..

hope ya don't mind and if someone steps up we can remove it :)
Thanks! ...This is very helpful since this is what's holding up Seibon from releasing the new hood design...And this would also help answer some questions those here on the forum have before considering purchasing this hood from Seibon....

Oh I agree...I wouldn't expect that Seibon would be willing to release or open up a group buy on the new hood design until after a final fitment was completed...Also during final fitment they will have even more pics to post to show fitment along with close ups of latches, the underside, heat extractors, etc....
