I want to see a video of the lag and just to see how it does. Very curious, or a video of a modded stock turbo would be cool too!

Lol, tell me what you want as far as a video, I'll post it up. I can tell you this... With the right tune, the modded stocker can make almost as much boost as the stocker does. On a factory tune, I bet they are EXTREMELY CLOSE. I been meaning to make another video. The video's I've post focus mostly on the access port and the fact that its holds 24-20psi to redline, depending what its tuned for.

I'm not going to bash or make judgements, but the one random dash shot I saw of a garrett turbo on a fist made me smile a bit and i felt I made the right choice FOR ME. Seemed like driving at 3500-4000rpm to get it to come on was optioned.

I have the first Cyborg installed, there is some lag but it can be tuned to the point it is not bad at all, strong boost is just a gear away.

I think with the 1.6 engine we are just going to have some lag but it can be minimized and gotten used to, I am fine with it as is, the only way to get rid of it is going back to a tiny stock turbo and living with it's issues, I love the cyborg compared to the stock one!

The 2860R may still be pretty laggy, I know the 286R and GTX are very much so, too much for a street car, even the 2554 is a bit more laggy than it would seem.

I and others put a bug in the ear of ATP to bring out something in the middle but have seen numbers posted, dyno plot, etc....on the 2560R yet but if going ATP I would be looking at that one exclusively.

For that kind of money I would just get the EFR6558 as simply a better turbo and then build my own parts to fit it. I was going to do that but got involved in the cyborg project and am getting more into it all the time, when done right it is plenty of power....though I am still interested in the EFR and still may do it in a couple of months or so for some winter fabrication fun:)

My bench mark is 3000rpm. It makes 18psi at 3000rpm in the heat and when its cold out, it will make 21.xxpsi at 3000rpm.

But it also makes boost at 1500rpm. It just goes makes the boost more like a ramp than a bazooka. I'll try and get a dash shot posted, but in the mean time, check out some of the zillion datalogs I've posted :)

Also wanted to agree with Rick on the 1.6L part. Other than a stock stock turbo, its gonna have some lag. The cyborg is in my bias opinion is the "happy medium" between having response, mid range power, and very reasonable topend. Of course the ATP turbo's can make all the top end power and some of the bottom end power, but from the video I saw, I wasn't impressed ( not picking, just... I'm only at 3500+rpm when I'm doing data logs. I use the bottom end to daily drive and never see above 3,000rpm, and I use 4700+ rpm when racing.

I really want to see more from ATP garrett powered fiestas... The cyborg is just an option, I wish a lot more guys would go big. I'm extremely happy with my amount of power, daily drivability, stock looking engine, and noise it makes. Of course... I'll never make 270whp either. GT turbo can.

Mine is still being tuned and I live at 5200ft elevation so everything will be a bit less, a bit slower to respond....still a ton better than the stock turbo:):)

How about a GT3276R, got one hanging on the wall on a hybrid twin scroll, single WG manifold I designed and built, along with intake to exhaust, WG, BOV, IC, Emanage Ultimate, harness, plugs, injectors, for a Scion tC, will fit other 2.4 Toyota cars as well:)

---------------

I would like to see somebody try the GT2560R just to see what it can do, I thought Razorlab was going to do one but I guess he changed his mind.

I think the 2560r would be a good compromise just because i dont really use the down low daily. I would like more mid range and top end. But i would not like to be waiting for boost forever so i think that turbo would be best for me. 250-280 whp would be awesome with me.

videos are uploading to youtube right now. not the best, but I think you can sorta see what's going on mostly. I was pretty ill prepared for what type of pull i WAS going to do. I sorta of had to do what the road told me to, so a 3rd gear pull turned into a 2nd into 3rd gear pull lol. The road is extremely curve before it sttraightens out.

also did a pull directly after the video just for fun and logged it.

Indeed and agreed ;)

This is probably my next project to get done along with a e20 tune which I'll have installed and tuned out by Cobb SoCal...

If you go Cyborg you will love it, even at 5200 ft it is hugely better than stock in just the way the car drives, it pulls where the stock turbo falls on it's face. , the cost is a damn good deal, reliability, bolt on, easy to install as a ton of room.....looks stock, the more closer to stock the more reliable in most ways....

I have gtx2860, and I have not once thought that the turbo is to big. Actually i think it's a better turbo for DD than stock, better fuel eco. and throttle response.
When it comes to power the fun started at stage4 260whp for me(i suspect it's a bit less), now it feels like a fast car to[raceflag], the car is awesome stock, but i thought it lacked power.
So that's why i love the new turbo, makes the car perfect for me.
This is my first turbo upgrade so it's easy to get excited.
Boost starts at 3000rpm and i have full boost at 4000rpm(1.35bar), this may change with the next tune, stage4+, i also have quick spool manifold.

Here's link to a pull i did, I compared it to focus rs 350hp, and focus rs 400hp. It looked about the same as the 350(maybe a tad faster).

Soon i'm installing the NXG 3J LSD, and may post some 0-100km videos[raceflag]

VLAst, how many euros/dollars do you have in the turbo kit, manifold, tune ?

You have any whp dyno's or 1/4mile times?

I'm wanting more guys in US to buy into these bigger turbo's, but I think cost has been an issue.

The GTX2860 is the smallest GTx right? Wish we could get a smaller turbine housing for it.

Yes its expensive, I think about 7000$ for most of the uppgrades i've installed, included shipment.
and then i pay lot of taxes over here so it adds up to 8800$
And it's probably more expensive for you, relative to the price of the car.
I pay about 20000$ for the car and then another 20000$ in taxes.
