Video posted by Matt Farah "TheSmokingTire" (12/23/2014)

"Wanting to see what the best our plumbed-but-stock Fiesta ST would put down on the dyno on race gas, we head back down to COBB Tuning SoCal for the full Pro Tune for 100 octane now making 240whp and 318wtq AT THE WHEELS! After that, Matt takes the car to the canyons to see how our newfound power works out in the world".

I'm waiting with excitement to see the youtube for this. Just awesome tuning !!

I'd be really interested to see that car at a drag strip as well while its cold still :)

I'd sure like to know more about this. Get him on here so he can post some data logs. That is very impressive. My Torco tune is a big step up from 91 octane, but I doubt its 240whp.

Hey...I'm curious as to who did your Torco tune here in CA? And do you have dyno results or logs posted? I don't think we've seen results posted yet from anyone else here on our forum tuning with Torco? Would be interesting to see what using Torco yields!

I've heard that "TheSmokingTire" should have a video ready to post within the next week or so which goes into much more detail showing the results of their VP100 fuel tune....

Pretty amazing how it picks up 1 for 1 on every single RPM to from spool up to redline. That is some mighty fine tuning !!! Almost like they installed a 1.8L short block.

Wish I owned a dyno... There... I said it. If Razor was here, and wasn't best buddies with Cobb, ( aka if i posted something like this ), he'd call me out too.

Suddenly.... The turbo is more efficient at everything single RPM, at every click, all by changing the gas in the tank.

If you added cams and a cylinder head port job, the hp would not increase 1 for 1 on every single rpm in the band. If you changed the turbo, it would not increase 1 for 1 at EVERY SINGLE RPM. If you ported the exhaust manifold, it would not be click for click identically more hp at every single rpm.

If you bumped the timing 6 degrees rpm for rpm it would not mean x hp per rpm 1 for 1 at every single rpm point.

That's just me... That's just my opinion. No one has to agree with it, no one has to prove me wrong ( or right ). I'm just saying what more than one person has been thinking. Of course questioning cobb is generally off limits for questioning. I'd really love to see this car run 13.1@106mph since it has so much power and I only ran 13.3@104mph :) that would prove me wrong :)

Don't forget, i'm a cobb swinger myself, I brag on there software every chance I get to every person i can. I just talked a friend of mine into there AP for his wrx and he's taking his car there to be tuned in Cali.

If Rick posted 3 dyno's increasing like that WITH MY TURBO SETUP, I would be giving it "the people's eyebrow" as well, lol.

Maybe the mustang dyno being recal between the 217whp and the 240whp run is a factor.

I will say a mustang dyno is better for tuning, but there is a conversion formula from mustang to dyno-jet which by nature is flawed.

I'm not as much questioning the numbers, like you mentioned, every dyno is different and even more so, climate is a big factor as well. I'm looking at... 1 for 1 exactly hp gains per rpm. The only way I could see a gain like that occurring is increased displacement. Timing gains would lend to great gains in some places, and little gains in other places. The AFR was perfect to begin with ( at least linear ). And boost... Increasing the boost on the same turbo isn't going to give you 1 for 1 hp per rpm gains from spool up to redline.

If it gain big down low, I'm on board. If it gained a ton on top and a little down low, I'm with ya. Its the 1 for 1 hp to rpm that makes me think too much, lol.

In the end, the NUMBERS don't matter too much ( show me a 1/4 mile track time and i'll be happy, lol ). But this just what I was thinking. Other wise, its sort of an amazing advertisement for the car and its tune ability.

Looks pretty amazing for a stock turbo even if the numbers can be questioned they might not be that far off.

To bad with tuning we cannot just move that torque curve to the right and make it more useful but still going to be a quick car!

,I am doing a e-tune with Panda Motor Sports, and its still not finished. When it is, I will post some comparison logs between the 91 and Torco and some virtual dyno runs. 100 octane VP is going to be a better fuel than 91 mixed with torco though, I would think even an e30 tune is better.

hey thx for the update and really look forward to seeing those comparisons!

I agree... Also using VP100 isn't very practical nor cost effective for many of us who use our FiST primarily as DD's... I'm far more interested myself in just having an e20~e30 tune and wouldn't want to push the mix any higher than this....Considering how content I am with my current mods, I suspect that switching over to e20~e30 may be more than enough to keep me satisfied and I may not even need to upgrade to a larger turbo...

This guy kows. Mustang dynos tend to read lower then dynojets so put that into the equation as well. This is suspect.
