I try to know enough to get by, but I think I'm missing something... I have a really hard time believing that we are the only forum on the entire world wide web that looks into making a fist better. These cars have been out in Europe for years, and I refuse to believe I'm the first to see the cylinder head intake ports. It just doesn't make sense that pumaspeed exist and perrian ( or what ever ) builds different turbo options, but know one has any info or specs on this motor or car.

There are several things on the car that make me say, " wth is that? Why is it like that? How does it work? Why didn't they do it the other way they did it before?". And I think if there is a euro website or german website or whatever, getting on those sites/forums could REALLY expand our knowledge about these engines from tuning, to mods, to parts, to reliability issues. I feel like we have to be missing a giant piece of puzzle that's just out there on the internet somewhere and we are missing the boat because it ends with ".eu" or something besides ".com" or "net".

No matter what, it was not a waste of time to open up the intake manifold last night, but I can't help but think there is info out there in the world that would have helped us already know that the focus intake was not interchangeable ( besides the seemingly obvious that the bore spacing is different ).

My question to you guys is.... Am I missing something? If there a Russian internet where they have 600hp 1.6L fist ? Is there an Australia based internet where they have built forged motors ? Am i missing like 10 different internets that can't be seen because they are not from the usa?

Sorry, this may seem like a dumb request, but I'm no computer hacker, and I feel like we are just one beginning chapter in a whole book of fiesta ST info that has already been written.

I can see your point. I'm was surprised there was not a bolt-on turbo option for the euro version when I brought my ST about 15 months ago.
It appears ATP were the first to do that.
I think it part of it has to do with tuning. I can't get a AP and the software to live tune, nothing available.
Its only recently that OBDll adaptors and cables to communicate with a PC have been released to down OTS tunes.
We seen to be way behind you guys when it comes to tunning.
As for Australia, we got the FiST about the same time as you guys. As mention, I have had my ST 15 months and in that time I have seen 2 other STs on the road.
There is no money to be made developing parts here.

Yeah, you would think that progress in other places than the U.S. And Australia would have made much more progress than has been made. It may be because of the differences in the engine platform that we have now vs the older Fiestas. Also, I am not surprised to see the split ports on the head as the Focus ST also has split ports. I'm curious as to why the intake design is so different between the two. The oil in the intake and buildup on the valves on yours looks just like the Focus STs that we pulled the intake off of as few weeks ago. Similar mileage as well.

Wow, so the focus has a single port intake, but twin port head? I assumed it would be single port head until the valves where they all split ( I guess i could look up pics ).

Interesting enough...the Fiesta ST's injectors are on the opposite site of the head as the Focus ST's as well, lol
