Those turbos would look good sticking out the front fenders

29psi!? [unbelieveable] and i thought our engines were running a lot of boost. And it's already set up in a rwd configuration, man the fun i could have dropping that into some inconspicuous vehicle. Or somehow stuff it in the FiST haha

That one may be hard to keep tuned with chunks missing all over.
I also think it would keep throwing the belt off.

Why iron blocks still?
Its an exotic graphite iron block. Its from the best diesels in the world. The 6.7L powerstroke uses this type of block. Its something crazy like 70% lighter than its iron counter part ( but don't quote me on the 70% ).

The 2.7L is awesome. Its the same as all ecoboost though. Rod stressing torque followed by falling on its face in the topend. In a truck, its gotta be really sweet. I' e read the new F-150 with this engine is faster than the old 3.5L ecoboost f150. The new truck with the 3.5L is easily the new performance leader in trucks.

I'd still look at that dodge's diesel ram though... 25+ mpg in real world drive is something an ecoboost can't even come REMOTELY close to.

Neither are the dodges payload or performance. Diesel is also more expensive and the motors is an insanely $$$ option.

The reason I don't own a truck.... I don't tow or carry a huge payload very often. Racing also isn't on the menu in a pick-up. Any idea what a 10k lbs trailer looks like? Lol. Its not just a car trailer. Its also close to what a 7.3L power-stroke was rated to tow in 1994.

On the other hand, diesel is only more expensive at the moment, and the range is super convenient ( which is what trucks are all about ). My ecoboost would also lose a warranty and run on only 93 oct within the first month, lol.

I would likely still buy the ford. But the diesel dodge would def be driven before dropping a zillion bux on a truck.

I like my 3 Duramaxes in a row better than the other trucks, rides and handles better, best transmission, huge brakes, now engine brake as well. I have pulled with a total truck and trailer weight of 29,900 lbs over 7,000 ft passes and could of maintained at least 60 MPH but slowed to 45 to conserve fuel. 765 ft lbs stock, I wish I could tune without loosing the warranty, my last two were much faster but I love this truck and I drove all three brands in 2012 and picked Chevy again.

----------

Anyway, loving the Ecoboost family, fun stuff all around.

If we could only combine the Ford Truck body ( looks the best IMHO), the Cummings Diesel and an Allison trans, that would be an awesome truck, lol.

My wife is a Chevy girl, she bought and drove their trucks for years and years before we were together, I brought home a nice new loaded Ford and she went for a ride and asked me who did the interior as said it looked like 4 different design teams worked on it doing their own thing, I had to agree, it was great and awful at the same time.

Ride was not that great.

Horrid engine and trans issues in the past........not sure now but it was bad for a very long time.

I miss the 7.3!

Put at least $2500 into the trans and it was good as well, doing it when brand new was best.

Tacked on fenders over the rear wheels look like they were, tacked on.

I liked the styling the best a couple of versions back but not now, inside or out so have to disagree.

Is their new diesel a good engine now? I would actually like to know and about the trans, I really hope so.

I could not get her to step foot into a dodge.

Buy and F650, Cummings and Allison, same body style for way to long but a damn good truck!

They made a really cool RV towing version for a few years or so, I have looked and looked for a clean one.

My wife had a great deal of sway in picking the Duramax but at the time I was building a race car I was going to be into enough to buy at least 1.8 new diesel trucks, ouch!!!!!

Yeah, I was gonna mention the F650. That's a lot of truck, lol, but would be awesome to have. As far as the body, I wasn't really referring to the interior cause the Chevy and GMC definitely have nice interior. The new Fords have decent interiors too IMO. I just like the boxy style of the newer Fords, always have. The Ford dealer down the road has a F350 with a factory installed lift and larger tires, sooo badass looking, but impractical for me.
As far as the 6.3 turbo diesel they are running now, I'm not sure. I haven't read any reviews on it.

F-series. Bestselling truck for 35+ years. All other arguments are void. Thanks for playing.
