After weeks of searching for the perfect Molten Orange ST I finally got one! Unfortunately, less than 48 hours after picking it up from the dealer, I got sideswiped by someone who was texting and driving. It wasn't the best start to a new year but at least I wasn't hurt and the damage appears to be mostly cosmetic. I had only put around 100 miles on the car before I was hit but I absolutely love it and I can't wait to get it back from the body shop! Part of the reason I chose the Fiesta was that my Dad races a 1980 Fiesta Hill Climb car... he was very excited to drive my new car but now he'll have to wait a little longer haha. I'm new to the Baltimore/DC area and i'd love to meet some other ST drivers!

Welcome! Bummer about all the inconvenience because some ignorant ****** could not wait to stop to text. Enjoy the car, and your dad's car looks great too. Molten Orange does look great on these cars.

Thanks! I was looking at getting a Performance Blue one in Pennsylvania but I ended up driving all the way to Fairfax because it was the closest dealer with a Molten Orange one (they actually had 3). I originally went there just to look at the color, since I hadn't seen it before, but I knew as soon as I saw it that I had to get it.

Welcome aboard! You definitely got the best color! [welcome]

I would be sick if that happened to mine. Glad no one was hurt although the person that hits you at least deserves a good spanking [smackbum]

Welcome and sorry about the accident.

You are not alone, my son let his fiance drive his new FiST (with about 100 miles on the odometer) to the shopping center where some idiot hit the rear of the car when pulling out of their parking spot. My son still gets "hot" about the situation because his fiance insists on parking as close to the stores as possible which tends to increase the odds of sustaining "parking lot damage".

Thanks everyone! I'm getting the damage appraised on Tuesday and hopefully it won't take too long to repair... insurance is paying for a rental but I really want to be back in the Fiesta because I barely got to enjoy it. I'm also worried that the body shop isn't going to follow powertrain break-in procedures if they're driving it around. The tow truck driver stalled it like 6 times trying to get it off the truck [bash] I'm amazed by how many people in the automotive industry can't drive stick, even the car salesman I bought it from!

I bought my car with 71 miles on it, and it got hit in the same manner as yours with 77 miles on it, so I feel your pain. I'm from Silver Spring, but I'm in NoVA these days.

The idiotic part is that most of the tow drivers and shop guys aren't going to let you drive it in those situations, either. Mine was a dealer demo and likely had the crap beaten out of it before I bought it, yet it runs like a top. You should be alright, although I understand the trepidation, too. Welcome!

Yeah, I should be fine, it seems like a really solid car! ...But with how terrible drivers are here, I wouldn't be surprised if something like this happened again. I need to move haha.
