Under Seat Powered Subwoofer

Hi, I just got a Fist a month ago and want to add a little more bass to it. I was wondering if any one knows or has tried putting a powered sub woofer under the passenger seat. Will it fit? Heres two of them I am looking at

There's not much room to mount something like that under the seat...you may have to route that to the back.

Are you sure? I need to go measure. Both are only a little bit over 3" tall. They've gotta fit.

I have an Infinity Basslink I was going to install, but it would take up way too much room in the trunk with it's 10" driver and 10" passive radiator. One of these would be perfect mounted under a seat.

Guess I'll need to build a box the size of the greatest common denominator for dimensions of both to see what the reality is.

Yeah go check...the area under our seat isn't flat and open, it has a vent duct and wiring for the seat warmers that takes up a lot of room.

Thanks for the advice. I grabbed one of the kicker hide away's at best buy to see if it fit under the seat and it ended up being just a little too wide and tall, by about an inch, to fit under the seat. I looked more and found this kenwood http://www.amazon.com/Kenwood-KSC-S...ood+sw11&pebp=1422894632388&peasin=B00BO8O9XQ. Its about 3 inches shorter on the width and almost an inch shorter in height. I think it will fit without a problem. I ordered one and ill let you know how it fits when I get it.

Good stuff. I am not a huge car audio guy but for a couple hundred bucks I might spring for some added low end. Thanks for being a guinea pig for us! Interested in your findings.

It will definitely fit...got one under my passenger seat. Fills in the low end nicely for not a lot of $$$. Also doesn't use up room in the already smallish trunk.

Kenwood fits. I haven't installed mine yet, but it slid right under the seat.

Glad to have confirmation. I live and breathe Amazon reviews, so it's nice to know there's a well rated sub that works for the FiST and won't take up precious cargo space. Will probably grab one for my FiST.

Ok so I finally got around to installing the Kenwood KSC-SW11 under my passenger seat and love it. It doesn't add a crazy amount of bass but it is very noticeable and rounds out the sound very well. I'm very happy I added it and it was very cheap. Installation was pretty simple and I even managed to run all the wires under the carpet so its hidden very well. I used information I gathered from other threads as too which speaker wires to tap into, using a fuse tap for the remote wire, and where to come through the fire wall. The only trouble I had was removing the pastic trim on the rails I tried to remove it and ended up cracking it . After I got the plastic rail off i realized it was much easier to just remove the weather stripping and use a flat head screw driver to pop the pins that secure the plastic rail into the frame. I tried to look for an OEM replacement online and had trouble finding one. If someone could help me find the part so I could order it I'd be super grateful. I hate having a crack in the trim on my new Fist =(.

Heres some pictures compareing the kenwood to the kicker. the Kicker ended up being to big to fit under seats. I also added some pictures showing how well the kenwood fits under the seat and theres some pictures of the trim I cracked. its from the passenger side and hopefully I can get a replacement part.

Don't have a Fist yet so I can't get a feel for it myself, but would there be anything wrong with trying to put it under the driver's seat? Taller drivers mean passengers are more likely to sit on the passenger side, so it might maintain foot space for the third passenger.

no there would be nothing wrong with that. in fact theres a tiny bit more room under the drivers seat, but even with the passenger seat push all the way forward i can only see the tip of the kenwood subwoofer unit. so I dont think you would have to worry about it either way. its very compact and hides under the seat very well.

Mine just arrived, now I just need a FiST to install it in... [emoji14]

I'm going to do some searching but do you happen to remember what resources you used or have any advice for an install?
