...not like THAT, you perverts! No, I mean mounting it in your car.

Did you know that a Garmin GPS mount uses the same exact ball diameter(there you go again, get your minds out of the gutter!) as the Cobb mount? Well, it does.

I just received my $7-from-eBay-including-shipping suction cup window mount from a Garmin OEM, and it works perfectly. Now, go out and buy yours! :)

Picture?

Im picturing it now.. the little ball on the back that you loosen to change the angle and all that. That fits onto the garmin mount. Very nice. How is everyone running their cable?

I just received it, so it's all trial and error at the moment. It's currently mounted on the left of the wheel, where the windshield is closest to you.

Yep, figured that one out the day I got the Accessport...luckily I had an old garmin that I didn't use :). Now, however, I use this, the attached pic, along with Ana angled cobb cable.

I used the mount that came with the AP and replaced the double sided tape with something stickier than the one provided. I have it placed so the AP is within my field of vision out the windshield next to the NAVI. The cable tucks in nicely under the steering wheel and behind the panel.

I had mine there, but didn't care for the proximity to the vent and whatnot.

If you could provide pics and a link to the mount you bought, that would be greatly appreciated!

I use an Akron phone holder from Amazon. I unclip the phone holder and replace it with the one for the AP. Stuck it to the top of the MFT display and hasn't fallen off. We'll see if it stays during the summer months. A flat surface is almost non existent in a FiST's dashboard.

Only problem there is that in some states mounting to the windshield is illegal.

Then you just mount it to one of those little windows between the windshield and door haha
Personally I don't wish to mount it at all.
However the front quarter window would be a good spot.

This particular mount wouldn't work for the quarter window, as it's too short. They do make longer ones, however.
