Bringing this one back. Has anyone heard anything from HP? I read the HP Tuner forum and it looks like no one has made any progress and also I called in September and didn't get very good vibes from what their customer support had to say.

HP tuners is a nice platform, I currently use it on a Saturn Sky redline and love it... plus I have a 3 VIN suite and nothing else to tune.

So here's my question. I know HP tuners is a great platform (at least in the GM world) However, it seems like 99% of tuners use the accessport. While HP tuners would be cheaper, aren't you limiting yourself in a big way when it comes to tuners?

Not necessarily. At first i doubt there will be many tunes available using the HP platform but over time who knows. It really depends on how popular this platform becomes with our FiSTs. HP supports all the other ecoboost engines... so there are other ecoboost tuners using this platform and eventually theyll write a tune for the 1.6t. Also ive never done it but i think you can self tune with HP.

Plus, correct me if im wrong, but most tuners using the accessport and other mediums dont let you data log. I know you cant with the livernoise tuner.

Im still wet behind the ears with the HP platform so some of my info may be off.

Hope that helps grnmachine02.

I didn't realize that HP was already working with the other ecoboost engines.

You can datalog with the accessport. I just got done tuning with deadhook via datalog and email. I can't speak to the livernois tuner, however.

Self tuning would be neat. My tuning experience has only been with megasquirt.
