Disabling traction control completely

When I autocross my Fiesta ST, I turn off the active handling and traction control with the center dashboard button. Unfortunately, it never gets turned completely off as Ford has chosen to leave some of the traction control function active to reduce torque steer. So, when accelerating out of a corner, the engine power is noticeably reduced which slows the car down considerably. Has anyone figured out a way to completely disable the traction control function? Thanks!

I do not believe it can be completely disabled without also loosing the ABS.

You can hold the button down for a more disabled version. Not sure if you know this already or not

The touch screen will show a count down and a message once its completely disabled

If you read his statement, I believe he is speaking of the Advanced Torque Vectoring.
This does rob power but cannot be shut off.

I do believe you can disable the Torque Vectoring by disabling the ABS.

Yeah if you disable the ABS system you would also turn off the torque vectoring. I don't know much in regards to this on the Fiesta, but on some older cars you could simply remove the fuse for the ABS module to turn it all off.

I agree, pulling the ABS fuse would do it.
However you might also be able to use the B-Spec ABS module.
I have one of those for sale.

The way I read it he's talking about torque truncation. Which can be tuned out. TVC as I understand it doesn't directly effect engine power.
Wasn't mcrib on the .net forum trying to remove TVC but keep ABS?

TVC that cannot be shut off is made to work by ABS, by slowing the slipping wheel when there is no input from steering.
This of coarse does rob power.
ABS can also not be shut off, even with the TC/EST off, unless a fuse is pulled.
So the only way to kill TVC is to kill ABS.

I have played with this and believe this is the way it works.
But then I have been wrong before.

For sure I can see TVC being an issue on a tight track or AC. The rear brakes would cook themselves no doubt. I get it indirectly robs power of course. You can feel it all the time pulling into the corners. My point is the first two gears are using torque truncation which directly caps power unless he's tuned?

Is the racing ABS module just the brain or does it require removing lines, etc...?

I would imagine just a control module at the price.

I would hope easy to swap out unless you can still turn the systems back on with it installed for the street.

This is a control module and also the hydraulic control.
All one unit so yes you need to connect the lines.

Sucks, if just the module this may of worked out great but I need to keep the stability and tvc for the street

I made a switch for the abs fuse for when I go autocross or drag racing I disable everything completely and I don't have to worry about a fuse. I just hit my switch do my day of racing and then turn it all back on when done.

I have an opposite problem.

I do road race so ABS is a good thing.
Yes I want to shut off the TCS/ESC.
However I would forget to turn it back on when I leave the track.

The dash board gets lit up like a Christmas tree it is hard to forget that everything is off. But with road racing a good abs system is worth its weight for sure.
