Accessport vs lighter wheels & quality tires? Better Bang for the Buck for DD?

Which would you acquire first?

I only have 1k miles on the car at the moment, so changing the wheels and tires to a lighter and sticky tire combination seems kind of silly when I still have lots of rubber on my stock wheels. But the idea of lighter wheels and a nice sticky tire is both pleasing to the eye and will enhance acceleration and general badassery.

Having never chipped or used an accessport, it's hard to want to pony up 400-550 dollars for a tune. I guess I'm not convinced the bang for the buck is as high for the accessport as it is for the wheels & tires. I plan to eventually be at stage 2 with the car.

My car is stock, minus a RMM. It's my daily driver and fun machine. Autocross, Rallycross, occasional track day and canyon running are all things I enjoy doing.

So again, what do you guys think?

I suggest reviewing the you tube videos on the https://www.youtube.com/user/TheSmokingTire concerning their Fiesta ST project build. If I remember correctly they explain in one video where the stock rubber fails and it is after some mods. One cheaper mod could be the RMM. For $150 the front wheel will stay planted when accelerated instead of wheel hop. This is explained here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QVsWbRwydoI. You may also get lucky and sell your wheels to the regular Fiesta crowd to fund the wheel upgrade. And lastly a small $50 gets you a higher air flow filter. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fqojysEZUWk. So unfortunately no quick easy answer just lots of opinions. The one thing everyone (most) will say is there is no wrong move unless you upgrade a part twice :D .

Good luck

PS forgot the free (elbow grease only) mods http://www.fiestastforum.com/forum/...Fiesta-ST-Mods-for-Maximum-Power-on-The-Cheap

Access port. It will open the door to all further mods. It's by the far the best "bang for your buck" mod.

No question man. It's all good.

Get the AP, and while you're enjoying your new found power, save up for the wheels. It's really a win win. Ha.
