...Like you can't get out of your own way?

...Like a giant sofa is strapped to the roof of your ST?

...Like someone from the factory had a heckuva Friday?

Do what I did.

Check the hose clamps on your intercooler and intake tract.

I was doing a little poke around and checked my two throttle body hose clamps (Upper hose-throttle body clamp) (Intercooler pipe-hose... hose clamp). Fidget tuning, as it were.

I tightened one which was moderately loose, and the other was not in an orientation to be tightened by socket, so I reached in and managed to loosen it with my very finger tips! It was not secure at all. I want to bet that that's where some of my lag was coming from. Spun it around by hand so I could get a socket on it, and tightened the hell out of it.

My Fiesta was born (I assume finalized with QC) on 12/12/14, the last day of a very important Mexican holiday. If I were working assembly/QC that day in Mexico City quality might not be job one, so understandable. No harm no foul, but amusing.

But yeah, HIGHLY recommend checking all your clamps. Off to put some 94 in and move to the more aggro tune.

An update to this story.

Yeah. Just yeah. That changes the game. In addition to the uprate to the 93-s2 tune, I can safely say that there was a loose hose in play. So this is what it's *supposed* to feel like.
