since [MENTION=2176]blurred[/MENTION] gave a good hint for a road tour I figured a thread might be useful. [burnout]

Here is what I figured blurred mention. I can easily edit the map. I will run this in a few weeks (pre tune and post tune). Add a map or give the coordinates and I will endeavor to create the maps.[raceflag]

That's basically it. I haven't done those 2 little spurs off Loon lake though. Speed limit is 80k, it's mild fun at that speed, you can cruise at 90-100 and accelerate through all the sweepers and build some fun into it without going too quickly. Unfortunately my Subaru is way too fast there now to have fun so now that I have this car I might enjoy it again at slower speeds :):)

This is right at the top of the map, the left coming into Loon... You spend a km or so right at waters edge with some sharp bends it's pretty awesome!!

I used to do that exact route on my zx10r and ya u have to be going pretty fast to make those sweepers fun. I took the Fist for the first time last Sunday and I was disappointed in the road. The car performed great but to have any fun my speeds started to creep up and I was doing well over the posted. Need some tighter stuff IMO

just east of this map rout is highway 29 Flinton. it is tight and very twisty. only like 15-20 km i think but man its a good one.https://www.google.ca/maps/dir/44.55645,-77.3140383/Flinton+Rd,+Flinton,+ON+K0H+1P0/@44.6149532,-77.346577,12z/data=!3m1!4b1!4m8!4m7!1m0!1m5!1m1!1s0x4cd317645de34289:0x9d3ede94cbfc03ee!2m2!1d-77.2256327!2d44.6733305

Heading up to Gravenhurst today, hoping to check out "Southwood Road".

Hey, CanadianGuy, Southern Ontario is a big place; where do you actually live? Hope to meet up some time "down the road"!

Have to do the 507 from the GolfR roads, it goes past Lake Catchacoma, where my childhood cottage was. In the 60's, you would have caught air all over the place, at 30 mph, on the 507. It actually wound around trees at points!

Great info, thanx!

Just noticed this thread! I haven't taken any road trips in the FiST yet but I just got the car back in October. I do know some good driving roads as I've kinda ridden all over Southern Ontario on my motorcycle. Was actually hoping to head up to Muskoka for an over-nighter last weekend but the gf got sick.

I'm near Mississauga and travel to Richmond Hill regularly to visit my gf. If anybody ever wants to have a local meet-up or do a long saturday/sunday drive up north somewhere, I would happily lead a cruise. I have a buddy with a FoST as well who would definitely join in on a trip. Don't need to wait until the spring to do it either. [driving]

This image might be helpful to anybody trying to plan a fun drive:

Have done this route up north a couple times on my bike and am dying to go with the FiST. With some added roads like 38 connecting Hwy 400 to Bala and Southwood Road. Peninsula Road going from Port Carling to Rosseau is actually one of my favourite roads. The 141 has incredible scenery too with massive rock formations on the North edge of Lake Rosseau. Ends up being around a 750km drive including getting there and back from Mississauga.

Don't like Facebook. Rather organize drives on here personally.

Only 6 more weeks of winter! Hopefully...

Thinking of doing this drive on Saturday if anybody wants to join me. Will start at the Tim Hortons at ONRoute King City stop on Highway 400 for 9am. Leaving shortly after. Will probably stop for lunch at the Turtle Jack's Muskoka Grill in Port Carling.

Supposed to be a really nice day. Let your Facebook peeps or other locals know!!! The drive will end (as far as me leading) in Bracebridge as I'm going to stay there overnight with my girlfriend. Everybody heading back to Toronto can just follow Highway 11 from there until it connects back to the 400 South.

This is by far one of my favourite roads in Ontario. Just got plates on the FiST last night and I'm already itching for this drive. Use to run it often in my Golf, I'm expecting the FiST to be even better.
