Swift Spec-R Springs Installed

So I learned about Swift springs, read the how and why and was sold. They're for performance. They lower only as much as benefits a lower CG but without impacting suspension geometry. They only use linear spring rates so you always know your rate. No guessing from progressive rates. They dyno the stock dampers and match the spring rates to those.

I installed my springs at a friend's house on Friday and the improvement was felt immediately. The drop seems to be about 1" or maybe a hair more. I didn't measure because I didn't care.

On the road small bumps feel less bouncy. Body roll is almost completely gone (I do have a TB Performance rear torsion bar). Ultimate grip is way up and the car is now tail happy again. (It lost some of that with the stock springs and the addition of the TB Torsion bar).

This morning I had a great blast through twisty roads with a Cayman S, Mitsu Ralliart and 3 modified Focus STs. The car performed flawlessly. My custom (built by myself and Boostbumps) e20 tune was rock solid with +6 corrections all around and the suspension was on point.

I love it.

Love how flush those wheels look. And which intercooler is that? Didn't see it in your signature.

And how'd you take the bars off of your lower grill? I've heard different ways.

The wheels are 7.5 et42 and that's a Mishimoto J-Line Intercooler. Definitely not bolt on and go but worth it for 260 bucks. Charge temps only rise 3 degrees F for a full 3rd gear pull at 24.5psi.

There's 3" hidden up top and another 1.25" hidden down low. Huge intercooler.

The lower grill cover just comes right off. It clips on the back side of the upright supports so if you spread gently it just comes right out.

That's one way I heard too. Thanks. I'll be doing that when I get my dhm intercooler installed.

And car looks great man. Wish I could keep mine clean.

And made you choose these springs over the others? You might be the only one I know who has these.

Boostbumps reminded me that my 3rd gear rise isn't 3 degrees in the summer. It's more like 7 in the current state of tune. 3 degrees was when ambient was 60.

I chose the Swift Springs because they're linear rate, tuned for the stock valving and 25% stiffer than stock, not 5% like most others.

As I mentioned on Facebook, looks great. What did they run you if you don't mind? The reason a lot guys don't have these yet is because they are pretty new, right?

I don't mind at all. They're very new. I pre-ordered mine before they were available for purchase.

I paid $345.

Nice looking car bud. The extra 5 mm offset and 1/2" on the rim gives at a heftier look, I dig it. I'm now convinced that these are the springs I need for DD and Autox duties. Where can I order them iso100?

I forgot to mention that I have 5mm spacers out back.

You can order them from http://www.hptmotorsports.com/. The performance increase is amazing and would be perfect for AutoX.

Thanks. Keep your us posted with your impressions. I was sold on Mountunes but I really wanted a linear spring rate which is what these have. I plan to install these with Koni STR (nonadjustable) so as to 'set em and forget em'. I've had coilovers and adj dampers before and rarely ever twiddled with them. I'd rather focus on the driving than be faced with too many variables and dialing in of the suspension.

Nice to have other linear rate spring in addition to the Suspension Techniques springs. Would you happen to have photos of the Swift springs, I'd like to see how they are wound. Here's photos of my ST springs next the OE Springs before I installed them.

Front ST Spring next to the OEM spring.

Rear ST spring next to the OEM spring.

Shoot. I didn't think to take photos. The overall spiral diameter is slightly larger than stock just like your photos show.

Nice stance man! I m curious to see the Swift springs too! koozy those ST springs look very nice, how are you liking them currently after a few months, I am seriously considering either one for their linear spring rate.

I love that they're linear. But hate that they're supposed to be a full 1" drop. Not sure how my rears would clear since I have 205/45-17.

I?m extremely happy with the ST springs. It?s been several months now and everything is still solid on OE shocks. No weird noises or anything. The ride is more composed and not to sound clich?, but it is literally on rails and a real hoot to drive. I enjoy creeping up on exotics and other cars that are viewed out of the Fiesta ST?s league in the local canyons near me like Mulholland Drive, Mulholland Hwy, and Angeles Crest Hwy to name a few and they can?t shake me. I'm like that nat that keeps buzzing around, LOL. I've also been strictly running E40 tunes for several months and thousands of miles now. The combination of the handling capability of the ST and torque with the E40 tune is powerful that often times I can overpower and have to let off in the twisty stuff. It?s a hoot to see their reactions with a, LOL. I wanted a more handling performance oriented spring set and these have suited well thus far. At some point I may add Koni?s or move on to coilovers, but I?m happy with things right now. The ST spring rates are higher than most other spring offerings. The front are 245lbs and rear 250lbs. OE Front is 172lbs, Rear 137lbs.
