MAP E-30 and 91 Cali tune review

I just finished up my E-30 tune with Adam from MAP and I really could not say enough, the tune is amazing!

We started with a 91 octane tune and it was such an improvement over the OTS map, power was improved everywhere.
Drivability is much improved as well, I use to avoid running the a/c because of the reduction in power at low rpm's, his tune completely eliminated that.

The E-30 tune is on another level, there is so much more power, the way the car builds boost with both tunes is incredible. I did have him make me another map slot for
the canyons that had lower boost levels so I wouldn't be blowing the tires off out of every corner.

The tune is absolutely solid! no surging or funny little issues that I did have with a previous tuner. Adam responds to Emails extremely quick and answered all my dumb questions in detail and made sure I was happy with the way the car felt.

I have found out the hard way that there is much more to a tune than wide open throttle pulls, everyday drivability is just as important if not more so.
With this tune in everyday driving like cruising on the freeway at 65mph and dipping into the throttle to pass someone there there is way more power, the car just accelerates.

I had chalked up the lack of bottom end to our little 1.6L but I truly don't feel that way anymore, If you are looking for a top end screamer this still isn't the magic trick as we are limited to our baby turbo. Overall I am extremely satisfied with the way the car feels.

I really can't say enough on the service Adam provided and his timely response, I highly recommend him.

Rob,

I appreciate the the time you took to post a review. Your politeness, and your patience for allowing me to test different things to fix small issues that you had from the previous tuner, really made working with you painless. I hope you have a good time on the canyons with your new tune!

Thank you,
Adam Brunson

Yes with the new tune the car feels way better. You will have to drive it next time and tell me what you think..

Someone say FOST? ;) I'm tuning my best friends FoST as we speak! Mmmm, E30.
Nice! what mods does it have? Rob has spoke nothing but good things about your maps. Yes I have a FOST and hang with these guys weekly. I'm running a GT2860RS, a custom aux fuel setup and its on E85 maxing the turbo out. I was trying to hit 400 with the disco potato but its just out of steam.

STeve's FoST isn't your average FoST, He has some of his own custom trickery going on with the fueling on the bigger turbo and Ethanol. Although I haven't driven it I have witnessed it
pulling away from me on the straights!

Nice. Thanks for the feedback. I'd like to try a good 93 octane tune. I've sent Adam a PM.

AUX fuel system isn't an issue, I have an AUX fuel system on our Ecoboost Mustang that I'm looking to make 700whp on next month.

Steve - should upgrade to a GTX and hit 400!

Yeah I should have done that to begin with. I'm over the FOST and seriously thinking about doing a FIST

I have owned over 80 cars, believe it or not. And oddly enough, my 700whp CTS-V isn't my favorite. My S2000 and FIST are my favorite out of the group. The FiST is seriously hilarious to me, and it makes it fun as hell. There isn't a single car I can think of for $20,000 that will put a smile on your face like this car does.

I personally have a FoST at my house as well and it just doesn't do it for me. It is a great car, if the FiST didn't exist.

Back to the FiST... I know that the 2.0, 1.6, 1.5 all use the 3 lobe fuel cam in the DI pump, any chance you guys designing or retrofitting the 4 lobe from the 2.3 into them? It seems like a money maker and a fueling fix...

I know it's a whole cam that pulls out but (I'm spitballing here) I'm thinking that you can slide the cam out, cut down the 3 lobe to a smaller "X" shape and press fit a 4 lobe cam over the "X"...

I have a spare EBM pump here, and possibly get a Fiesta pump here as well to do some comparisons to see what is possible. As we develop more product and I start making more power on my ST we will be forced to look into fueling solutions. Unfortunately for the Mustang there was nothing so we made a AUX kit, and will be running straight E85.

Adam what is the E-30 tune, is that Ethanol?

Running just your CA 91 tune what type of power can a FiST make?
