Front brake pads replacement

Need to change my front and rear ASAP. However ford brake pads are in nation wide back order till September. Ford CSR would not provide a loaner car meanwhile, I wouldn't mind dropping off the car at their lot. Called Mountune and there pads are also back ordered. So are Hawks. What choices do I have left? Time to go to Autozone or Pepboys and see what they have???

Dunno, but it's insane. I have Hawks on back order from CarID. They have an estimated ship date of early August, for what its worth.

For mildly helpful info, the product number on the Hawk pads I ordered from CarID is HB725B.650 They are estimated to ship Aug 5 according to them, however they show as in stock on their site. You may be able to source them elsewhere i.e. eBay, Amazon, etc. The only thing that people have run into is the FMSI reference number must be the correct for the ST, which is 1730. People have apparently been getting the wrong pads. Good luck!

Did you buy and install those? I was having issues with Rock Autos site because they seemed to have some of the front pads improperly marked

It seems like some shop have EBC in stock. Which type of EBC is recommended for daily driving with similar or better performance than stock?

I've had good luck in the past with EBC green stuff on Mini Coopers. I'm hopeful I can find some for the FiST, as the stock pads create a shitload of dust....

I can't believe brake pads for this car are on national back order from Ford. That's really stupid. It's a normal wear and tear item for cripes sake. And on our car a really fast wearing part at that. [emoji52]

When I was at VW many years ago heater cores were always on national back order. But brake pads? Come on now.

Kyle at local Ford shop (FoST owner) called, OEM front pads came in today. So maybe the long dry spell is over. Or maybe mine were just lost in the mail four months.

Meantime ran through a set of Autozone's best guaranteed for life pads, now on Hawks, consecutive track weekends coming up end of August, so if Hawks won't hunt have a backup plan.

You ran through a set of Autozones in 4 months?

Actually they were fine until I tracked them for a day, definitely not made for that kind of abuse.

Ok, Hawk pads HB725R.650 at Sebring, not adequate for tracking either. Not enough stopping power at hairpin, did not wear evenly, and had I not lost an IC hose in third session, an almost new front set would have barely lasted all day.

OEM pads already on for next track day. PBIR also has a punishing turn with similar or worse total speed reduction, OEM pads were fine in past there, fingers crossed on long-backordered OEM's now on car.
