Hi folks,

I'm new on this board. I've had my FIST for less than a week & I love this little beast. My insurance is going to run me $230 per MONTH! This seems excessive to me. 63 yo, clean driving record for over 20 yrs and a credit rating over 800. Anyone here can meet or beat this horror story?

There must be a lot of stolen/damaged Fiestas in your area.

That's almost as much I pay every 6 months. Have you tried switching insurance?

Yeah, that seems pretty excessive. I'm in one of the higher to insure areas of the country and I pay just under $110 a month. 34 y.o., one non moving violation on my record and one collision claim.

Coming from PA i know we have higher insurance than some states but WOW. I live in NC now and I have full coverage and decent damage coverages on the FiST and my 1994 f150 and I pay under 1000 a year and I am 25...

Who do you get your insurance through? I'd shop around...

My insurance is 100 a month. I'm a 30yo who just totalled his Scion TC. Though, I haven't had a speeding ticket since early 2005, and the wreck in the TC was the first since 2005 (not including the deer I hit because it doesn't count to an insurance company).

Ouch that's a lot of money! When I got mine, my insurance (USAA) classified the car as a "station wagon" to my delight. Pay very little.

You need to shop around, Stew...you're getting bent over. Or call your insurance company and threaten to move your home owners, life and whatever else you have if they can't offer something more reasonable. If they don't, move it all because I'm sure you can do better. You might be getting hosed on the other stuff as well.

That amount is ridiculous. I was considering moving back to West Chester, but that is another strike against PA. In NC, I pay about $1000/year for the FiST and an 08 Outback.

Dude that's insane! I'm from pa as well. I have a clean record and for full coverage I pay 176 every 6 months... So your one month is 60 bucks more than I pay for 6 ? Something is wrong there id be questioning that for sure. And def shopping around you can do way better

$230 a month might be reasonable if you're insuring a small aircraft...I'm 24 and only pay $55 a month for my FiST.

I just thought of this. Sure, you're premium is probably much lower than his, but a TON of things can affect that. Where you live, how old you are, whether your car is insured as an ST or just a Fiesta, what company you're worth, what coverage you have, what deductible you have, if the car is financed or not, etc etc. So someone with a 60 dollar payment might have it because they have the lowest coverages, astronomical deductible, a shady fly-by-night insurance company. I have above average coverage limits, full coverage, limited tort, rental coverage, and have had Progressive for over 8 years.

I live in NJ so insurance is always more but I pay about $150 a month. I just turned 25 and have a good driving record and good credit
