Found a Golf R yesterday omw to the gym. Its always on the way to the gym lol. Anyways, you know the rest. Bottom line, he couldn't shake me. 40 K v dub couldn't loose the 20 k Ford. It was fun though. Little hot hatchback tag.

We test drove an R and they are wicked fast. I think if you are zip around town it'll be hard to shake off the FiST, but on the highways it'll walk away with little effort.

Definitely fun cars and a bit nicer interiors (in my opinion) than the FiST. I do enjoy getting pretty amazing MPG though, while still being able to hang with some of the bigger dogs in the twistys.

I nearly bit the bullet and purchased another Mitsubishi but since the closest warranty dealer is 3 hours away I went with the Fiesta. It will be tough not owning an AWD but love this little Ford. Also, teaching Subies what a real AWD system did never got old. ;)

Grats on representing for us!!

The Golf R interior is like a freaking Pagani compared to the Fiesta.
If you paid 15k more i would expect it to be. Id still worry that it will be a typical VW when the warrant expires. Electrical this, motor that, sensor this, seal that.

I can say the NEW (2015 and up) Golf R Is Head and Shoulders ahead of the Ford in top end power, quiet roomy ride, fit and finish, Quality of materials and stable at speed and braking. Fun car for what it is and in town there is not much that will run away from a well prep'd FiST
