Which front brake pads??

Okay, we ordered new brakes from Rock Auto, and the front pads are not correct. The rotors and rear pads are correct at least. No local part stores have anything in stock, and a couple said they can't get anything for the ST. We've already talked to Rock Auto and went through the options and they suggested that the Power Stop 171730 is the only guaranteed fit, per Power Stop's website. So my question is, has anyone had this problem, and are there other pads that do or do not fit? We want to avoid the Motorcraft ones due to the extreme level of brake dust from the factory pads.

Okay, well now we've learned that the rear pads don't work either. They are the correct ones, but they are a millimeter or so too wide, so they bind in the cradle which would render the brakes useless. I guess they're going back to Rock as well. So if anyone is looking to order brakes from Rock Auto, DO NOT buy the Raybestos ones.

Personal experience for me is that Rock Auto is terrible anyway. Never had a problem with Auto Zone or Advanced. As far as pads go it depends on your driving and what the main intent of the car is, the factory pads are actually pretty good for daily use. For maybe spirited driving or occasional auto-x the Hawk 5.0 are good also; Ive been using the 5.0s but I cooked them pretty good after just a few track days and daily use. The torque vectoring is pretty aggressive on the car when you are pushing it hard.

Now I've had mixed results with all of the major parts chains, so there's only a few that I deal with now because I know the guys who work there actually put some effort into their customer service. I've never had a bad dealing with Rock, and even this issue was resolved quickly and painlessly. And generally, while their prices are far better than any of the local stores, the shipping often evens that out, so I only buy from them when I'm ordering enough to really warrant it.

As for the factory pads, yes they are very good. The Fiesta will haul down quicker than any of my other cars save maybe my Shelby Charger, which is slightly lighter. But as I said in the other thread, the Motorcraft pads are just too dusty for a daily driver, which I'm 99% sure will never see a track or autox course. She's a daily commuter that just likes to pick on more expensive cars at the stoplight from time to time.

Just a few names I've become familiar with over the yrs...Hawk HPS, Porterfield, EBC green stuff. I've only ever run Hawks on past cars. Looking to try Porterfield on the FiSt if there's a fitment.
