Hey guys just wanted to stop by the forum quick and I hope it's allowed for this since I do not officially have a FiST yet but am looking at getting one in the very near future. I was just curious as to recommendations and things to look for. Right now the dealership has a 2014 with just under 10k miles for sale for $19,000. It is fully loaded it seems. I was curious if anyone knows if that is a good deal or would I be better of getting a new one for a price around $22,000. Currently I have a 2013 1.6l ecoboost fusion, but it is a lease and I am looking to get out of it asap, as soon as this Friday even to take advantage of deals at the dealerships. So I do not have time to build and order one. If anyone came give me advice or anything that would be greatly appreciated. I hope I can find something out good here and be able to join you guys on the forums in the near future. Thank you :)!!!

This is a link to the one I was looking at. I hope it works

Hey,man. I opted for a brand new 15 for about 3k more than a 14 with 8000 miles on it. I have everything except the Recaros. To me it was the right choice. Hope to see another Wisconsinite on the forums!

That's kind of what I was looking at around here too. Few other dealerships have a 2015 and it seems like you said only thing doesn't have are the seats. I guess I will have to check out what the other dealerships can do on price and go from there. The used one would be buying from a friend that works at the dealership so he can get me the best price on that, and I love the green too. But then at another dealership it's where my parents have always gone to the same guy so he may be able to work something out too. I hope it does work and can see some of the Wisconsin people too :)!

Since you are soliciting opinions, for a couple grand, I'd take the new car... especially if it came with 0% financing. I think people drive the piss out of these cars and buying one with those few miles on it makes me thing it was a bundle of problems to its owner, or was a repo or something. Again, just my opinion. Good luck with your purchase! If and when you choose a car, I hope you love it and it loves you back!

If you can get a brand new one fully loaded for $22,000 jump on that. I paid $20K for my loaded 14 with 6k miles on it in July. As far as the seats go, I wouldn't have bought a FiST without the recaros. Good luck.

Hi there, and welcome. Since you asked, the first thing I would do is get down to Braeger, take it for a spirited drive and see how you like the Recaros. The reason is because there are folks here that wish they had gotten them and others that hate them. The visuals are good; its got everything except the Rado wheels and red calipers. Nice paint: no rock dings and no wheel rash. I'd say look at the tires to see if they're original and how much tread is left on them. There shouldn't be too much wear on them. If there are new tires its been tossed around and enjoyed. Check how clean the engine bay and undercarriage is. It also doesn't hurt to ask why the original owner parted with it. Will it be CPO? It means there's a good warranty on the engine and drivetrain but it also means you can't mod it, except maybe a Mountune MP215.

Mine is also a '14 equipped the exactly the same and currently has a bit over 10K miles, tires pretty good. Everything except the Rados but its Molten. The window sticker on my car new was somewhere around $25,500. Braeger says the retail price of the used car is $23,999 which I don't think is correct. I think 19K for the used one is just about there but try to get it down a bit (of course).

Out here, there are no '15s left and the green is no longer available in the '16. So if you literally "Got to Have It in Green" it might be hard to find a new one in a '15 equipped the way you want. Easy way to find out is go to ford.com in your area and check inventory and check extended inventory.

Sorry if I suggested things you already know. Looking forward to pics of your new ride!

Thanks for all the advice from everyone, lots of good information and things to think about and stuff I never even thought of. I think you're right about the sticker price for the car, I think that was just what the dealership could sell it for now but are saying its on sale for the 19,000, because when I looked earlier the original price for that car was around 26,000 I believe. The green is cool and all but it isn't something I "got to have" the other one I was looking at is black which I will be going to the dealership tomorrow to look at hopefully. Here is a link to the other one. Once again thank you very much and I will keep you updated on what I do. I'm hoping this will all work out :)!

I got a brand new 2015 in May with everything but the nav and Recaros for 22,500, if you've got a good rate for a new one, id say shoot for it. I couldn't justify to my self the 1900$ for the Recaros and I kind of regretted it at first cause I did slide around a bit when taking a fast corner. However, since I got my 4 point harness a couple months ago that has changed. It holds me in the seat great(and makes me feel cool) when I want to hoon around, and that only costs 200$. Plus I don't have to worry about breaking the side bolstering or taking care of the leather. So that's just my experience if you are on the fence about them.

What harness did you get?

Link doesn't work, but if its the one at Hiller Ford, better compare the Recaros with the seats on the black one. The one at Hiller does not have the Recaros. The seats are a big deal as far as decision making.

My personal knee-jerk decision (from a thousand miles away) would be the green one especially if it belonged to friend at a dealership your parents trust.

Thanks again everybody for the information I really appreciate this! I am going today after work to look at and test drive the all black one at hiller ford. Then to see what kind of a deal can get, and also have to check if my xplan pricing and see if that will be any lower. I'm excited for this and can't wait :)!!!

You can't get a green one as a 2016 and the green is so much more awesome than black, the 2014 and 2015 comes with the MyFordTouch system and the 2016 comes with the Sync 3 system.

Used will get you higher options for a lower price, but it will also likely have some minor damage from driving for several thousand miles that a new car won't have. I opted to get a new 2016 and order mine, I had to have the Recaros and molten orange paint. The standard grey wheels and Sync 3 system on the 2016 were a plus for me and orange still comes on the 2016. Comes down to what you want or what you are willing to settle for. I wanted brand new and had a specific set of options I wanted so I factory ordered mine.

Alright so I just got back from the dealership and a bit of really interesting news and I think it made my decision much easier. I went to hiller, the one with the new black fiesta st. And talking to the guy there he was like where did you see this car, because I can't find it any where in our computers and I know last week it was over by the sold area, and now this week it's back on the lot. I told him it was listed on the website. So he goes and does some asking around and comes to find out that, this car was a prize to a winner on a tv show. Something like survivor, or the amazing race, he wasn't sure what shoe exactly. But the lady that won it, said she would rather have the cash, mistake on her part obviously lol. Well the dealership is in the process of buying the car back and getting the paper work all sorted out which is why the car wasn't listed in their computers yet. The good news about all of this is that, the car is brand new, no miles or anything on it, but once the dealership buys it back they have to sell it as a used car which means that will save me some more money. As soon as they have all the numbers figured out he will be back in contact with me and hopefully finalize a deal!
