For me was when my kids started moving out after being a single dad for 12 years I went out last Victoria weekend just going to dealers to see what was out there.I found the molten orange Fist which I read about the famous fun feel and I feel in love with my pumpkin. It's in storage for the winter but will be just as beautiful in May for summer. It's something just for dad.[wiggle]

Small car

For me: I wanted (another) sports car. I had traded my Mini Cooper S (previous Miata) for an Acura TL two years ago. I thought I'd like 300 hp, AWD, quiet, etc but it made driving less engaging. I missed shifting and even drifting a little around a corner in winter. I realize I enjoy a small car... And so far really like the FiST. 1000km in first five days!

The final decision.

I was held at pen point.

"Sign here, here, uh....here annnd here. I'll also need all your cash and bank accounts. "

I signed, handed them my wallet. Slowly backed towards the doors, not making any sudden movements. I was about to call the authorities, but then as I was about to turn and walk out the exit, somebody handed me some keys and papers, gave me a pat on the back, and let me take a Fiesta ST home indefinitely, so it's all good.

Went to test drive a Focus ST with my girlfriend, she's was car shopping as she'll be in the market late 2016. While there was test drove a 2014 FiST, I had NOOOOOO intentions of buying a car but 10 days later I owned a black '15 FiST [confuse]

I had been driving my wife's MX5 (Miata) cause she 'needed' the truck. Love a small, light and reasonably quick car. But, sadly a man of a certain age can look a bit of a d**k driving a rag top. So, knowing all the reviews of the ST, I eventually got tempted by a 2014 used one. The guy was so enthusiastic about it he more or less talked himself out of selling! Then I saw a new one the dealer was fixing Mountune kit onto for base price.... Still have the Mazda, but you can guess which car I'm driving [twothumb]

After reading all the headlines and watching all the review videos I signed up for an Ecoboost Challenge event and the rest is history.

Great test drives (after watching all the youtube vids) and a really good rebate/0% offer. I drove the FoST, but the FiST just felt and fit better.

It was in my budget and practical for my lifestyle- college student and mechanic at a dealership. I drove the car roughly 20 miles on the test drive but it only took 1 or 2 before I knew this was the car I wanted lol.

I won mine from Fords Octane Academy. Funny thing is a good friend of mine was looking at a FOST a few months prior and I was talking mad shit about FWD lol. I happened into my FIST and well love it to death. I had to take back all I said. Almost 2 years later I love the little bugger to death. Good MPGs, Quick, not too bad lookin and can carve canyons.

I've been a fan of small cars since I started driving and I am a Ford person so naturally I would gravitate towards a small Ford car. However I did do research on other cars but the Fiesta still seemed like the best fit. I am a persona that only wants to drive a manual so car with only an automatic wasn't an option. I wanted a Fiesta when the first showed up in the US. This was when I was in college so it was just a dream. Wanted to keep my then current 2003 Ford ZX2 as a fun car and daily the Fiesta. That was the plan for several years as I attempted and failed to save money while in college. 2013 rolled around and ST was coming out. Looked interesting but I was still going for the regular Fiesta at first. Started watching some videos on the ST and the people doing the Fiesta Movement stuff. Suddenly I was really eager for the ST. Right around Labor Day 2013 I was driving past the local dealer and a bright orange ST was front and center so I pulled a turn around to go look at it. It was Sunday and they were closed the next day for Labor day, but I went in on Tuesday and got a test drive. I was basically sold on the car, I just needed to get out of college and have a good paying job in order to have a new car make financial sense. I went to 3 of the Ford Ecoboost Drive events and drove the Fiesta ST as well as a handful more test drives as STs popped up at dealers (I was testing out the dealers as well as getting to drive the car). I finally had enough money saved up for me to feel comfortable putting in my factory order after having a good job for a year. After waiting years I finally got my Fiesta at the end of September and have had it for about 2 months now. I regret nothing about my purchase and it is nice to have a brand new car after getting rid of my 13 year old car that had plenty of squeaks, clunks, and rattles.

I always do a lot of research on stuff before I put some of my good money towards it to make sure it's going to work for me and last. I can say without a doubt I did more than enough research to say this was the car for me.

"Hey Mike!" (dealer)
Can we give this a spin? No obligations ok? No pressure ok?
Taking it thru some back woods and on the freeway, I wondered "what can I do to finagle this?"
There is now an MO sitting in my garage.

Already had '69 Lotus Elan when I bought the first GTI in '82 as my DD. Bought first new Mini before it was available, later had JCW version.

Bought Fist in August 2013 before dealer knew it had one coming, made a great deal over internet because dealer was clueless. Car has not seen dealer since the day it arrived and I picked it up.

More than 2 years later I am still in love. Now tracking is my favorite hobby. Getting close to mastering car on track, so adding Cyborg and better tires soon. Looking forward to the car being better than the driver. Again.

I had a 2013 Dart 1.4 turbo, Full bolt ons, custom EWG. all kinds of dumb money and work into it. Flooded the motor on a bad storm one night. Got the engine and turbo replaced, car had nothing but issues after that, I did not want to pay off the 18K they wanted for it when my lease was up. (Yup I modded the shit out of my dart while leasing it) I had every intention of buying it afterwards, had a big turbo waiting for the day I actually bought it. I walked into the ford dealer checked out the pricing on a fist, realized it was well with in my price range, and signed the papers. Did not even test drive it before I bought it. Now 1 year later, it is a full stage 3, and looking to go BT as soon as me and my soon to be fiance get out house.Oh and not to mention the FIST was damn near faster stock than my dart was with 4 grand put into it..Such a waste of money.

Same dimensions (no more than 1" in any direction) as my favorite generation VW GTI, 1992 Mk2 16v.

~15% heavier (2400 vs 2750) but ~50% more hp (134 vs 197) and TONS more torque and modern conveniences.

Plus the rave reviews by everyone.
Plus wanting a lighter weight, fun but still useful daily driver.
Plus I got an excellent deal on a 2014 CPO
I'm only 1 month and 1k of my own miles in and I love it more everyday. (SO much better after symposer delete IMO)

Found myself at the ecoboost challenge. Sometimes I wonder how my life would be if I never drove down there...

18 months in this is still my dream car.

I've always liked hot hatchbacks, and have owned an '86 Civic Si, '98 VW GTI, and a 2010 Cooper S. I also have a '78 MG Midget that I've owned for 20 years, so I definitely enjoy enthusiastic driving.

I'd owned the Cooper for about 5-1/2 years, and got to doing some thinking regarding my upcoming retirement; although my MINI was quite reliable, they don't have much of a reputation for staying that way. Plus, doing without a spare tire never seemed like a good idea, and frankly I'd pretty much gotten over the MINI thing. So I started researching the FiST, and liked everything I saw about it. It had more power, two extra doors, a much better infotainment package, a spare tire... Plus, there's a Ford dealership three miles from our home, compared to thirty miles for the MINI. My dear wife was actually amenable to the idea, and the final result was the Oxford White FiST out in our garage. Note that it ended up costing about $4,000 less than the MINI did originally, even with Recaros and the moonroof - and even costs less to insure new than the five-year old MINI. Actually, one of the main selling points was that I watched umpteen different FiST review videos on YouTube, and every one of them was not only very positive, but involved lots of giggling. That's all I needed to know. [biggrin]

I had recently sold my two Mopars, a 1969 Dodge Coronet and 2008 Dodge Caliber SRT-4, and realized I miss having something fun to drive. (We had two NA Subarus) I saw the local dealer had a couple FiST on the lot and went to drive one. The power in the car was nice and balanced out with the chassis. I liked everything about the car from a driving standpoint, but wasn't sure if I could live with something this small. Turns out that it isn't so bad. The car has a good aftermarket following and seems easy to work on thus far. With any luck the car will last another 7 years and be my sons first ride.

I was "content" with my 2013 Mustang GT, it had the look and power I wanted, but daily driving it was no fun and felt heavy. I was going to the Ford dealer just to look at it.

They gave me a trade in value I couldn't refuse for my Mustang, and the Fiesta ST reminded me of my old 2003 SVT Focus. Gas mileage is so much better as well.

Also all the rave reviews every car reviewer has on it made me want to see if the hype was real.
