2014 vs 2016 Brake Pads

Was there a brake design change between the FiST 2014 and 2016 model years? My lease is up on my 2014 next week, and I just purchased a 2016 this week. I bought some Porterfield pads for the 14 just a couple of months ago so I'd like to take those off the old car and save them for the new car, and just replace the ones on the lease with a cheaper Advance Auto pad. It's looking like different part numbers on both the Advance site, and the Ford site. I don't want to go through the hassle if the pads from the 14 won't even fit the 16. Does anyone on here know for sure?

Thanks!

Edit: Decided to look up a 15 model on fordparts, and sure enough I see there's a part number change based on production date. New question, does anyone know what the change was? Any potential for pads being easier to find?

Who has had luck with other pads that aren't as dusty? It seems I'm constantly cleaning my wheels on the FiST. Any recommendations for pads for a 2015?

I thought I read that there was a national backorder on pads for a while, with a mention that they were being redesigned. I thought the end result would be a part number supercedure and less annoying OEM pads for all. Maybe this is what's happened?

Would be nice if Tasca was a sponsor here.

While the front pads were on backorder, I tried Hawk street/track, Autozone guaranteed for life, and standard stock fiesta pads. None were even close to as good as OEM for tracking.

I do not care how dusty they are on street as long as they work on both street and track. Unusual to get such a good compromise, dusty is small price to pay.

I recently had a heck of a time finding pads for my '14. Finally got some from dealership. They have much less dust than the OEM '14 pads... they also feel like shit. I'll be happy when I run down these and I can go back to something like the '14 pads, but I have a feeling these pads will last much longer than 25K. :-(

Oh yeah, there was a part # change. 2 dealerships and Rock Auto tried to sell me non ST fiesta pads in my search. It took so long to find the stupid brake pads I grinded past the limits and had to replace the rotors!

Feel like shit like how? Like from an average daily driven street car driver perspective, or from a modded car driver kind of perspective?

I'm fine with how dusty the pads are because they perform like champs.

I wonder if I should order a set well in advance to needing to replace, due to backorders? Hm.

The front pads for 2016s are on back order. When my dealer parts guy looked in the Ford parts system under my VIN, there was an option for "Performance" or "Comfort" pads. I have a set of performance pads on order and can look up the number later.

The 2016MY has a less aggressive (labeled "performance") brake pad.

Less aggressive than what, earlier model year ST's or the MY16 "comfort" pads? So MY 16 is the first with 2 different OEM pads to choose from?

How are those mountune pads compared to stock (2014)? Are they the rs-r version? Thinking of picking up a set of these pretty soon.

My Mountune pads are road (or street) version. To me, the stopping power is similar to the 2014 OEM (more aggrssive) pads but the pedal feel is less grabby and takes a bit of getting used to.

Great that's exactly what im looking for! Tired of that inital bite that these have. I dont track it, just daily drive, so those pads sound right up my alley. Thanks for the response. [rockon]
