Hey everyone, here's a little bit about me, I used to have a 2014 Chevy Sonic 1.4 Turbo. Such a fun car, unfortunately that car got totaled because a drunk driver caused a 3 car crash. Right now i'm driving my 1985 Chevrolet C10, getting a whopping 7 mpg. I found a 2014 Fiesta ST, it's used has 4,800 miles on it. They are asking $16,520 for it, it's "certified".... just wondering if this seems like a good deal? I don't have the money for a down payment at the moment. I know I've read that these cars are damn fun to drive. What kind of power are y'all seeing on the stock turbo with mods? How good is the aftermarket for the fiesta, for Sonic it wasn't the best. I thought about a focus ST, but was told that the fiesta st was just more fun to drive. Hoping I can get this Fiesta it seems like a good deal to me!

Great fun to drive.Don't know about prices in Texas. Are you a tall guy or just average 5'6" to 6'0" your good to go but over that a I hear a lot of guys saying that They're just to tall for the car.

Welcome Aboard.

Take it for a test drive then you will be able to decide.

I personally think that is a great deal. Grab it if possible

The aftermarket is decent in my opinion and continues to grow. With a stock turbo, stage 3 (full bolt on) and tune people are usually somewhere in the neighborhood of 200 whp and 250 tq on pump gas (no ethanol). There are other variables to it but that seems to be the general result.

If you were happy with the Sonic, I think you'll love the Fiesta. More power, better handling and a better overall driving experience. Price, dependent on condition sounds reasonable. Good luck!

Even if it has no options, IMHO that's a fair price with such low miles and CPO. If it has options, even better.

I'm 42 and 6'2" and I fit just fine in mine, I have tons of legroom and headroom.

Sorry to hear about your Sonic, glad you're OK. Get the Fiesta it is a great performance/economy car and surprisingly also very nicely appointed, I was quite surprised at how nice the interior and features are.

The FiST will make you change your definition of fun, its that good. I'm coming from a Chevy truck as well (was getting 10-11mpg, I feel your pain!) the gas savings alone will pay for more than you think, in my case its enough for insurance and extra money on the payments.

As a 6'4" 220lb athletic guy I can say in full honesty I'm plenty comfortable in the cockpit (recaro's too, some folks say they are narrow, but I'm pretty broad, I guess my shoulders and upper torso place well due to my long frame...), seat is all the way back and down, but everything lines up like a dream, shift knob right under my palm with elbow on the armrest, drivers door soft armrest pad gets my left elbow which leads my hand perfectly to the steering wheel, no complaints on leg room either, and the addition of a dead pedal really seals the deal when cruising. The potholes here in San Francisco are enough to give James Bonds' ejector seat a good run for its money, and I've yet to hit my head on the ceiling (sunroof as well, you'd have even more room without it).

I think the deal you are looking at sounds solid, even without mention of options. You're basically getting a fully broken in car ready to make your own at a discount that is enough to buy all the mods you'd ever want.

I personally can't yet speak to power with mods, as I'm putting my pennies away to do everything in one shot, but I can tell you in stock form this car is more than enough fun to keep you entertained. There are TONS of threads on here with information on mods and power with dyno's and all that, just dig around some of the subforums to find exactly what mods you are looking for more information on.

I think the aftermarket for the FiST is pretty healthy, I would like to see more in the lighting department (come on projectors!!!) but as far as power, chassis, aesthetics, suspension its pretty well covered. (wheels are lacking a bit, but thats a 4x100 bolt pattern issue, not an aftermarket thing, and there are ways around that as well)

I hope you are able to make a move on the car if thats what you decide to do, let us know what happens!

I'm trying to decide if I want to wait till the end of the year to save some $$$ for a down payment or just go ahead and pull the trigger on this lol. Yeah the thing I had to complain about with the sonic was the aftermarket the bolt pattern was 5x105 super hard to find the right wheels. I was making around 194 hp on the stock turbo on my sonic. Not sure if you guys know this, aren't interest rates higher on used cars?

From my experience yes but if its certified they may have a special rate

If you have not already resolved this issue you might want to try starting your own thread in the "Performance Tuning" section. But.... as far as I know if you are repeatedly peaking at 19.5 it is completely normal. It may very well be the correct reading even if the turbo is truly peaking at the advertised stock 21 psi. But due to the discrepancy in calibration and gauge readings, the read value may fluctuate. But don't trust me, take it straight form Cobb, page 3:

https://static.cobbtuning.com/cobbtuningweb/site/maps/Ford/All%20Maps/Fiesta%20ST/Map%20Notes/FIESTA_ST_BASE_14.pdf

Stage1 91 v104
o Fuel Requirements: 91 or 92 OCT (95 RON) fuel minimum
o Intake Requirements: Stock airbox with stock air filter
o Exhaust Requirements: Stock
o Boost Targets: 20.5psi peak tapering down to 13.5psi by redline +/- 1.5psi

So you should be good, always check for leaks though if anything else goes down.
