So, I know a lot of guys have reached out to 949 about his rims. From what I have seen everyone has been shut down.
I used to have his rims on my miata, civic, and fit.
So I figured I would ask.

We'll I'm here to tell you that I decided to reach out and see if I had any luck as a repeat customer.

He told me "Perhaps later in 2016".

!!!! MAYBE?!?!? I'll take that!
Do we still have enough interest from the community to encourage him?
He'll I'll put money down now.
The real question is what size?

I asked a couple times and waited long enough so I gave my money to Team Dynamics instead.

I talked with Emilio quite some time ago about it as well then just did the 4x100 conversion instead and damn glad I did as have 22 wheels and 14 tires now though selling some and may someday run 15x11 6UL wheels though have 10 wheels in 15x9, Helix roll formed made by Konig.

I doubt we will ever see a 16x8 6UL as there would not be enough sales to warrant a large investment in new molds unless easy to do a 4x100 and 4x108 and a large group buy was setup.

I just bought a set of Enkei RPF1 16x8, +36mm, 14.6 lbs, roll formed, $800.

I agree why did they choose 4x108. I also asked if he would just make a blank Rim so we could have it machined to 4x108. That would seem to be pretty easy to do.

Received the same response from him not 2 weeks ago. I'd like a 17X7 or 17X8. But, I don't have much hope. When I spoke to him last year he said maybe early 2016, and now the ETA is maybe late 2016. I'm not criticizing him at all. I just don't think there is enough demand.

Lol all I hear on this forum is about your 4x100 roll formed wheels.

There is a reason I post about 4x100, roll formed etc...not everyone sees every thread.

There is little hope of ever having many wheels to pick from in 4x108 that are not to large in diameter, to heavy, to much money for what they are.....

You can get a lot of great low weight high quality wheels in 4x100 and the conversion, especially if you have a few tools and skills is not very expensive.

I could care less about 4x108 for my car but still have looked into getting some made for those that stay with it and have asked quite a few companies about it because I care about my fellow enthusiasts and want to help them out:)

If not for being retired I would have several performance parts and low weight wheel solutions if the market supported it to offer my fellow FiST owners.

I was hoping some of the great low cost roll formed wheels in 15 and now 17" would be made in 16x8 when I learned the new Miata was going back to 4x100 and coming with 16 or 17" wheels I called everyone I could think of to see what could be done, no luck:(

PCA tried it with TD for 16x8 in 4x108 and now the other company which is quite a bit higher in cost and have moderate weight but super strong wheels and not looking good so far but I do hope he can get them made.

Until then the best option for 16x8 is the RPF1 and 4x100 conversion, DIY as much as possible it would be around $1050 TO $1100 with very nice fitting 14.8lb wheels.

For 15x8, 12 lb or lighter wheels the cost would drop down to $800-850.

Hey RAAM, do you know if the Chinese hubs could be ordered and pressed into our cars directly?

I believe the Mazda 2 hubs which are 4x100 fit just fine and has been done. I would double check that first before ordering though.

For rotors you can drill them on a drill press or even hand drill and just make the holes a little bigger, just like stock holes are as the rotors are hub centric, not stud centric.

If you wish and if tracking the car not a bad idea ARP has race studs that press right in to the 4x108 hubs so probably fit the 4x100 as well.

I run the mazda 2 hubs on the rear, they are physically identical to standard fiesta hubs except the bolt pattern is 4x100 and the hub bore is 54.1
BUT note I say standard fiesta, the caliper mounts are different on the ST version so unless you make an adapter or switch brakes it won't fit.
Which is fine as you usually be running rings with most wheels anyway. You can pick up pair from a wrecked mazada 2 cheaper than redrilling the hubs.

What are the pros and cons of switching brakes and what is needed to do that? If a bracket isn't a big deal some copies could be made at a machine shop if anyone makes some.

Hub bore shouldn't make any difference since we would be using mostly honda/Toyota hub size wheels anyhow right?

What about the Mazda 2 front hubs? Close or not at all?

Brakes will depend on wheel diameter, brake kit, rotor diameter, front or rear application, please post more info and if for street, track, both, etc.....so we can better help you with this:)

I don't know about the front hub setup. I only switched on the rears because my wilwood brakes only fit the non ST rear hubs, and the non ST hub flanges can't be redrilled to 4x100 (at least the timken ones).
