17x8 Turbomac fit questions....

So we lowered ZIM on Mountunes yesterday and I was getting a close view of things while on the lift. I am pondering the 15/52 Turbomac 17x8 but I noticed how tight is seems to the edge of the spring perch in the strut. I can't see an 8" rim fitting without trimming the perch....

Anyone have experience with these wheels and being lowered, how do they fit? Rub?

Based on my conversation with them at SEMA, the 4x108 17x8 has an offset designed around the FiST. They can also use the stock tire (a bit of stretch)

Being a 17x8 you are adding 1/2 inch to each side of the wheel before the offset change. So you are 12.7mm closer to the wheel. They are et 42 which is 5 less than the stock wheel, so that pushes it out by 5 more mm. So essentially you are 7.7mm closer to the strut, which isn't much. And you have 17.7mm more poke. Many people are running 15-25mm spacers on stock wheels which means 17.7 should be fine.

Even if you do end up rubbing on the inside, a 3mm spacer should most likley solve it and not necessitate longer studs.

Not to derail the thread but at what thickness spacer would necessitate a longer stud?
You need 1.5 times the diameter of the stud in thread engagement, which for us is 18mm... would be something that would need to be measured. However, I never go past 3mm without longer bolts or studs.

Thanks! Tire shop ordered me the wrong size tire so I'm having them order new ones. I'm gonna run the 215/40/17 Yokohama S. Drives.
I don't know how I missed this thread but I just got S.Drives for my Turbomacs in the exact same size. Haven't mounted them yet, any luck with the setup?

With 215/45/17 in the s.drives I rubbed all day long but I am pretty low on coilovers. I don't have any issues with the 215/40/17's I have on there now.
