After trying to make sense of all the info I searched for (on this and a other forum that is not as good so I will not name it [biggrin]), I believe that after the Model year 2015 Fists Ford changed the brake pad material to a less dust version. Yes the dust was maddening but I enjoyed the initial bite of the brakes.
The new low dust version reviews I read reported that they seem to loss that " passenger head to dash board" (yup I stole that one) initial grab. Improvement maybe, I don't care, I want the car I test drove the first time not some grocery getter feeling brakes, I like "feeling" of this cars feed back. Yeah its not a formula 1 car I know.

Anyway I got on fordparts.com to sort out the part number issue below is what I got during a chat session.

Hello Matt. Welcome to Fordparts.com Catalog Assistance. My name is Caroline. Please give me a moment while I research your request.
Caroline says:
Front or rear brake pads?
Matt says:
OK, thank you!
Matt says:
Front and or rear if available also
Caroline says:
ok. I'l see what the master catalog has listed for the VIN.
Matt says:
I need fronts now, ill get both if available.
Caroline says:
AY1Z-2001-D front brake pads.
Caroline says:
BRF1494 is the motorcraft part number .
Caroline says:
Those are the original part numbers I show no supersessions.
Caroline says:
C1BZ-2200-A Rear brake pads
Caroline says:
Motorcraft number: BRF1444
Matt says:
That's the same as the 2016 model year, I believe a low dust version?
Caroline says:
CU2Z-2V001-A 2001 (BR1454B) for 2016 version
Caroline says:
Also: AE8Z-2001-C BRF1493
Matt says:
Ok right on thank you for clearing this up for me!
Caroline says:
AY1Z-2001-E (BRF1508)
Caroline says:
& AY1Z-2001-D BRF1494
Caroline says:
You're welcome. Are there any other FordParts.com part catalog questions I can assist you with today?
Matt says:
Is it possible to order on this sight or do I have to go through a dealer? No one has these in stock near me.
Caroline says:
Parts listed on the website are supplied by registered Ford dealerships.
Caroline says:
Any dealer can order the parts and have them shipped overnight.
Matt says:
So Im at the mercy of dealership for parts correct?
Matt says:
ok thanks again!
Matt says:
Ill call one of them back thanks again.

I hope some one else may find this use full as I was not satisfied with reviews I could find on aftermarket pads, not to mention several national parts stores will try to sell you standard Fiesta pads that do not fit.

In review
Stock 14+15 grabby pads motorcraft part numbers are as follows Front-BRF1494 rear- BRF1444

And It seem I have to go through a dealership, anyone have one that will ship to PA and doesn't stink?

A few months ago I was able to secure a set of the updated OEM pads after 3 weeks of looking and a couple sets of regular fiesta pads being sent to me (thanks rock auto). I absolutely HATE them. This is good info, I want the OG pads back! They were freakin fantastic compared to these new ones. Breaking feels horrible. They work well enough but I can feel the rotors through the pedal.

Do you have a 2014 or 2015? Apparently the 15s came with a whole different set of pads. If you own a 14 they only have one set of pads that come up in the system, those are the OG ones. I just had them installed but the Tasca parts said for the 15s two sets of pads show up; performance and comfort, or something like that. Can't quite remember what he said, but I'm guessing if you have a 15 you accidentally got the comfort ones.

From what I've been told, comfort only come if you selected all weather tires. The Performance or racing ones are the originals and come on summer tire optioned (default) cars. I have a 2016 and the brakes feel great. I assume they are the aggressive ones because my wheels are filthy in literally one long drive.

The original front pads were AY1Z-2001-B and these are NO longer available.
That has already been superseded by AY1Z-2001-D.

I've got 30,000 miles on a '14 with the original pads, but I have a set of mountune (road) pads (with stainless braided hoses) here and waiting. Haven't heard much about them yet, good or bad.

The front track pads should have a big S on them. The new less aggressive Front pads should have big H on them.

Here are right part numbers. I just ordered these a month ago through Tasca and they are on my car now and fit and run just like the old, OEM ones.

AY1Z2001D Front BRAKE PADS
C1BZ2200A Rear BRAKE PADS

I just ordered a set of these on Friday from Tasca.
So yes, these are the current numbers.

What is the difference between B and D?
Unfortunally there is no info on this.
It could be a manufacturer change or a change of material or anything for that mater.
All that is available is that "B" was superseded by "D" and the "B" version is no longer available anywhere.
