Ultra Low Budget Stealth Sub Install

In an effort to A) retain as much cargo space as I could and B) spend as little as I could on a sub install (so the woman had no reason to complain), I came up with a $150 solution that makes the car still look stock but gain the bass that the factory Sony speakers seriously lack by placing the sub enclosure in the spare tire well.

Voila...

The install consists of an old Audiobahn AW1006T that I had collecting dust in the basement for the last 8 or 9 years and a "3400 watt" Boss Audio amp. I think it came out great for what little I spent on it for parts and materials. And the fact that it's hidden is a little bonus for me, I've always wanted to do a stealth install.

I'm sure you are getting thump but wow that's zero space for that sub.

-1100 for SQ.
+100 for thought.

Sell that sub and amp to a bass head and fill that box and amp with the right woofer combo. You should make money.

After displacement, the sub is seeing .56 cu. ft. of air. Just above the minimum recommend volume. I also stuffed the box with polyfill, and after a little tuning, I think it sounds great. Of course, in my experience, SQ has always been subjective.
