Carbon fiber hood?

I'm wanting to hear your opinions. My hood was damaged a couple weeks ago. Wet concrete was dumped on my car from an overpass by the construction crew that was working. That sounds worse than it actually is. It just chipped the paint on the hood more than it already was. My car was one of five that got hit and luckily mine was the lightest of the damage. Anyways I'm seriously considering buying a carbon fiber hood instead of having the stock hood repainted. But that said I have had carbon fiber hoods before and in the TX heat/sun you get about 3 years before the top gel coat starts looking bad. So I'm thinking about having a carbon fiber hood wrapped in carbon fiber vinyl. Does that sound goofy or does it make sense? Do you think people will be able to tell it is wrapped? I was going to get the carbon wrap that headlight armor sells.

Get the actual hood. If you wax it and keep up with it should last you a long time. The wrap just looks funky imho

A CF hood is going to take more maintenance than its factory counterpart, but should be good for years.

2 bucket wash -> clay bar -> (good) sealant -> wax, if desired.

If possible, park in a garage or keep it in the shade. Not really specific for CF but just dark colors in general. Heat and UV are going to cause issues like delamination faster than with lighter colors.

I got one only to lose some weight and have a bit of venting though that part won't do a lot it will help a little.
I had planned to get it painted body color as do not like to stand out, prefer a stealthier look, my wife wants me to keep it CF, which surprised me but she is not like any other 52 year young beautiful woman I have ever met, she loves the look of the CNC parts I have bought over the years:)

Perhaps you can get a high quality UV clear coat sprayed over the finish on it?
