Is the Mishimoto Z Line sufficient?

I'm just wondering if the Mishimoto Z Line is sufficient for someone that doesn't plan on doing any major upgrades? At most I would only do the IC and maybe a stage 2 flash. All I want is something that will keep the ecu from pulling timing because things got too hot. Thanks guys!

to answer your question in a direct way. yes, it will be sufficient... but that's about all it will be. it will be out performed by literally every other intercooler we have available for the platform. its only rated to 22psi, and if I recall when I was stage 2, you run 22psi. so you would literally be pushing this intercooler to its max on a daily basis. so I would not recommend it. levels, MTC, and DHM have factory fit intercoolers for around <$500. and if you talk to DHM I think his tax season sale is still going on so you could even get a little discount. I would suggest the J-line as it is cheaper, but it takes a few other mods and cutting the bumper slightly which all in all adds up to about the same price as buying one of the afore mentioned ones. hope this helps.

I was originally thinking of going with the J Line as it could be had for $400 with all of the other components. I then started thinking Z Line because it would probably fit without cutting. Back to the J Line it is then!

You don't have to cut much to make the J-Line fit. Get the CMBuildz bracket and order the J-line from Modbargains with all of the stuff needed to install. You just need to trim the bumper cover in a few places to make it fit.

The trimming is what I was referring to. It won't be bad at all and it's hardly noticeable. I just placed an order with mod bargains.

Thanks for the interest in our intercoolers. As noted by Tempe, the Z-line would be sufficient for this application, but I can't say it would be a recommended selection. The Z-line pressure and power output limits are easily attainable by a bolt-on Fiesta. To provide greater efficiency and more room to grow, the J-line is the cooler you want. The J-line will support upwards of 550 whp and has a fantastic core which will keep intake temperatures extremely low.

Thanks
-John
