I haven't seen this brought up on any of the threads I've read thus far (& please forgive me if this has been asked and answered already) but does anyone know if the Recaros in the 2016 Focus ST and the Fiesta ST are the same? I'm trying to make my mind up between the 2 cars and have a good chance to pick up a FoST ST2 w/Recaros for a really good price. I know I don't fit in the Fiesta ones and am wondering if I'll fit in the Focus ones. I'm 6'1" 230. [dunno]

Nope. FiST ones are more comfortable overall, plus they have seat heaters even though they are only partial leather. The FoST ones are either cloth or leather (ST2 or ST3), and only leather have heaters. I liked my ST2 seats on my FoST, but the FiST ones are much nicer for daily use.

No, the ergonomics of the two are definitely different.

FiST Recaro's are basically designed for slim European builds
FoST Recaro's are better for athletic American builds.

No "big boned" people will fit in either seat. I'm 5'9" 140# and the FiST Recaro's fit me fantastic. My partner is 5'11" and 170# and he finds the FoST Recaro's more comfortable for his build, but I find the middle-back [higher than lumbar] on the FoST Recaro's too aggressive. The FiST Recaro's suffer from the head-restraint problem where it's tilted too far forward, however most people just use a bench vice and some muscle to fix that to taste. Looking at your dims, it's possible you'd be better off with the base FiST or a Focus ST1 seat.

Like the seats, the cars also have very different characters. One drive in each will decide which one is for you.

Great info, thanks! I've got back-to-back drives scheduled for the FiST & FoST tomorrow so I can compare them properly.

I own both, they're physically the same size and have felt identical from day 1 until now, minus the added leather texture. They break-in really well and are worth every penny, and this is coming from a 6', 270 lb male that didn't know there were size limitations. I have no headrest complaints because my head sits about an inch in front of them in both cars.

I also sit pretty close to the wheel, though.

I've sat in both, and they seem the same. I think most people see differences due to the way the seats break in. My passenger seat feels much different than my drivers seat which is broken in for me. I feel it fits me perfect (5' 10" and about 200lbs). Tight at first but good now.
