Well, I'm just not pleased with the current setup. Yes, the RX350s are the bees knees in performance, but I miss Bi-Xenons and I want my painter to do his thing in these lights rather than rattle can.

Lets do this!

Monday I ordered a set of OEM LED DRL headlights from the UK:

The high beam position will get another set of Type U fogs like my current setup.

This build is comprised of:

- Gloss Black Paint Throughout
- Stock permaseal removed / replaced with Morimoto RetroRubber (no cutting the housings this time)
- Morimoto Switchback BAU15S Bulbs
- 4TL-R Projector Swap
- Etched Lenses ("ST" logo)
- Morimoto Type U fogs in high beams wired as quad lows

Simple. Effective. Beautiful. Nothin' like it.

Are the headlights from the UK any different then the ones from say, Germany? Obviously only different in one being LHD and one being RHD. I don't remember seeing an LED strip on the ones from Germany. Or is it from a different model Fiesta?

It's my understanding there's a mid-level model without the LED DRL then the premium with it, for both Germany (LHD) and UK (RHD).

EvoX-Rs finished up:

Demon Eyes tested (holy cow two per projector is stupid bright):

Now on to the Type U fogs for the high beam position. Since I have them currently in my headlights, I know what's required for the best fit: removing the two mounting studs on each unit (left) then I coat the bare metal in matte black nail polish (right):

Body color shrouds are very rice to me. I hate color matching everything to the body. I enjoy a little contrast and offset.

Got the housings in today aaaaand EvoX-Rs are not a direct swap like suspected before. It'll be close enough, however, but in the back of my mind I'm still considering going to RX350 BiX instead.

What exactly are you going to use to contrast green? because the complementary color of lime green is... hot pink... that's a non-starter.

There's really like... NO information on these headlights compared to what I can find out in person. So...

I found out there are two settings for the DRL as there should be.

There's also no side marker light like the stock US headlights use (T10 bulbs) nor any reflectors at all.

The turn signal bulb is an oddball PY21W and not 1156 or 1157 like previously suspected. I have to special order some LED bulbs for those.

and we're in!

I didn't expect this set to have leveling motors, so I'll just wire those up to a manual switch in the cabin.

Got the high beam spot trimmed to fit the Type U:

The Mini D2S 3.0 lens holder fits the bezel super well, but the mounting points of the projector do not:

Aside from that, the EvoX-R doesn't fit well at all, so it may be RX350 time.

Just a small update for right now:

Doing another set of the Murano turn signal covers. This time, the accent "bands" were a smoked chrome that would go with nothing, so I stripped that via our blasting cabinet and will have the painter do those gloss black as well:

^ Will be in touch when they're finished up. I won't do any body color in there, so they will work with any paint code.

Thanks!
