Heat Reflectiing Gold Tape - Any Experiences?

Hey guys, I am trying to do some research on the different type of available heat reflective tapes. There isn't much info about them regarding the exact differences, so I was hoping that maybe someone on here has had some experiences with maybe one of them at least.

There are three different type of gold heat reflecting tape that I am able to find online. They are as follows:

Constructed of highly reflective metalized polyimide film
Withstands up to 675°F

metalized polyamide polymer laminated glass cloth
Capable of handling continual temperatures up to 850°F
Resists UV degradation for long-term performance
Adhesive protected by a release liner rated up to 325°F

Reflects up to 750° F radiant heat and withstands continuous operating temperature (heat soak) of 500° F
metalized polyamide polymer is laminated to a thin layer of glass cloth, with a strong fire-resistant adhesive backing
fire-resistant adhesive used on this film passes the FAA 12-second vertical burn test
original, heavy-duty reflective film developed for F1 and IndyCars

Right now I am leaning more towards the Pegasus and DEI products, but I am sure that the Mishimoto product is quality as well. If anyone has any sort of input, I would really appreciate it!

Thanks for looking![wave]

I am installing a 2j cowl intake and wanted to wrap the intake pipe with some reflective tape.

I would use the cheapest one you can find.

I'm using a 2J intake without any heat wrap or reflective tape on the tubing. While sitting idle the intake temps rise a little, but instantly drop once you start moving. During my data logs the intake temp actually drop about 4-5 degrees below ambient towards the top of the powerband.

They all should do a similar job. I always like Pegasus for their grassroots support, but I've also used the DEI stuff with success, most recently in my turbo Miata, on the airbox and also turbine heat-shield protecting the coolant and brake lines near the firewall. For giggles, after a 20 minute track session and a cool-down lap, my Fluke IR thermometer will register around 750F at the exhaust manifold, about 300F on the surface of the gold foil on the turbine shield, and 175F on the backside of the stainless substrate. Clearly effective, IMO. The intake airbox is a few inches further away so it's always much cooler.

I used Mishimoto's heat tape based on price. I like it, it wasn't hard to work with. I have no numbers at this point to back up any claims of cooler temps but since I was changing from an Injen intake to a Mountune Full Induction kit, I decided to cover the stock plastic intake tube that connects to the turbo, the Mountune airbox, and since I had some left over I also covered the stock upper intake snorkel. I've seen the tape coming in up in a couple small spots on the upper intake snorkel, mainly because it's on a curved surface and the tape job was somewhat patchy on that particular part. I cut different shapes to fit and made relief cuts in the tape to make it around the curves and bends. It's looking great on the airbox and stock intake tube as far as I have seen. I'm glad I did it while it was out, every little bit helps.

I used one 2" x 15' roll on the stock intake tube that connects to the turbo. I ordered another 2" x 15' roll to cover the airbox and intake snorkel with a few feet left over. I ordered them off of eBay for around $37 each if I remember correctly.
