Let me begin my introduction with a big thank you to the creators of this forum and to the many frequent contributors. I've been trolling these forums for a few months, and this enthusiastic and knowledgable online community informed my new car purchase. I've learned a lot already, and I will no doubt continue to do so as I use these threads as a valuable resource.

Magnetic
Recaros
Sunroof
Murdered-out rims

I chose those options in the "build my ford" website, and to my surprise there was a car that matched those exact specs a few miles down the road. It was practically the only FiST in town, and it was calling my name!

When I test drove this little beast, I knew after my first 2 shifts out of the dealership (WOT) that I had found my new car. I felt immediately comfortable with the power, the handling and balance is superb, and it is just plain fun to drive. I opened it up 6 or 8 times during the test; the salesman didn't seem to mind too much. I didn't purchase that day, but I laughed all the way home out of sheer joy. If I had any criticism, it's that the car feels slightly underpowered as stock, hence these spirited forums.

Before I pulled the trigger I tested a FoST as well, and I had a very different reaction. FoST seems overpowered by comparison, torque steer is ridiculous, and the balance just felt off. It didn't glide like the FiST, and I never got comfortable. Simply put, there were moments when I wasn't driving the car; it was driving me.

So I went back to the FiST and couldn't be happier. Got a good deal, a couple hundred away from Ford's A-plan, by using the invoice as a starting point. Salesman was very straightforward and never once tried to "sell" me on something I didn't ask for. Best car-buying experience I've ever had, hands down.

I was initially disappointed that my calipers are silver instead of the red that was listed on the window sticker as part of the painted wheel upgrade, but in retrospect I actually enjoy the sleeper quality of the unpainted calipers. The red is sharp, but the silver is a cleaner look, IMO.

A mechanic friend of mine said the front end reminds him of a koi fish. I embraced the would-be jab and now refer to my vehicle as the Party Carp. Contemplating scaled paint job... Ha!

I've installed a Mishimoto OCC and high flow air filter. Got my COBB RMM and AP today. Will install the RMM soon, but waiting until 1000 miles to flash the ECU and go stage 1, as I'm being extra careful to break it in gently. I have almost no experience wrenching, so the information on these forums has proven vital and inspiring!

FMIC and cold air intake are next on the list. Maybe some bracing if wheel hop gets bad.

I've seen some awesome builds here and I look forward to joining this community.

Thanks all,
-claydough
