Am I missing something?

Isn't the point in Ceramic Coating to keep heat in/retard heat-transfer? Isn't the point in an intercooler to transfer/extract heat?

Wouldn't a ceramic-coated intercooler be self-defeating?

(I've even tried to research the heat-transfer/retention properties of powder-coating, questioning the wisdom of that application for the same reason!)

That gold is pretty awesome on that manifold. Can I send you my stocker to be coated? Better yet when will you guys be coming out with an exhaust maniford?

Yea he completely ignored this very relevant and LOGICAL question. Ceramic coatings usually RETAIN heat. Intercoolers are supposed to release heat. If heat can't escape the fins due to the coating.....WTF? There site calls the product a "Thermal Barrier". They have a section of the site with a bunch of test data showing how well the coatings reduce the surface temperature of the heated test metals. He's putting this on intercoolers? They have a bunch of different products though. There must be one that just offers protection at a given temp and NOT a barrier to retain heat...

Joe would you care to tell us the exact Cerakote product line you are using on the ICs?

There's this http://www.pumaspeed.com/product-R-Sport-Fiesta-ST180-Quickspool-Tubular-Manifold_16197.jsp and http://www.pumaspeed.com/product-Pu...-Fiesta-ST180-GT28-Tubular-Manifold_16616.jsp

There's also an ebay/china special. I think someone mentioned using it but don't recall where. http://www.aliexpress.com/store/pro...ord-Fiesta-ST180-1-6T/206324_32432502775.html

I have the eBay one.. Working great so far, about 5,000+ miles in. Does it help gain any power or spool? I don't think so. It's also a pumaspeed rep, so it's probably safe to assume that the pumaspeed manifold doesn't do much either.

My manifold was also modified to run with an external wastegate. Check out my build thread for pictures
