Arrived home this afternoon and glanced down at the odometer - 999 KM!
Clicked over 1000 on my way to the gym a bit later so it's time for the first oil change.
Going to pick up some Ford synthetic blend tomorrow and will change it on Saturday.[wrenchin]
Will also have a look at the hose clamps to check for boost leaks while I'm underneath.
Looking forward to it!

One question on synth blends - the only ones I can seem to find are high mileage oils. Anybody have the same issue or is this just a Canada thing?[confuse]

Are you getting the motorcraft or some other brand?

Hey Rooster. I went to the Ford dealer yesterday and asked for the synth blend and the parts guys said they only stock conventional or full synth.
He asked what car it was for and when I told him he said they hadn't had any in for service yet.
So, this morning I went to a local auto parts store and picked up some Pennzoil Gold blend. Meets Ford specs so figured it would be OK.
Just finished the oil change and besides freezing my a$$ off (it was about -15C here - a bit warmer in my garage) all is well. [wrenchin]
Oil that came out after 1000km (600 miles) was surprisingly dirty and the OE filter was on there surprisingly tight. I also checked several of the clamps on the boost side of the intake and they seemed tight.
I tried and failed to reset the oil reminder following the directions in the manual. [confuse] Someone has a thread on this and will try again later.
Cheers

Glad I'm not the only crazy one Rod! My son got me a foam pad designed for the cold days on the garage floor.[grinking] That and my insulated coveralls and it was all good. It is kind of therapeutic though.
Unfortunately can't get Ford oil at Wally World in Canada - only the usual tier 1 brands and no blends.
Going through a bit of a cold spell here which is probably what you're getting (our yesterday's weather).
Spring can't come fast enough.[cool]

Ya you can keep the cold and send us some cali type weather ... I most times use a bit of cardboard and a heavy jacket.. keeps ya moving :) and mechanic gloves work well keeping the cold tools and such away from direct contact just long enough to get the job done.. It was rather fun under there too ;)
