I recently purchased a MBRP XP series for my car and I installed it with a catless downpipe and it sounds terrible in my opinion remember this is my opinion so I then put on the stock cat and I still dislike the sound of it, its very loud I just want to know if I were to purchase the cobb catback exhaust I would feel the same way because its $1100 taxes included here in Canada and I don't want to spend anymore money if ill hate that too. I really cant tell by all the you tube videos how these will sound because according to the videos I really liked the MBRP sound but not in person I'm just wanting to know what anyone thinks about the cobb cat back exhaust is it really ear popping loud like the MBRP would I be wasting my money buying the cobb exhaust? I do have a 07 mazda3 with a 2.3L and corksport catback exhaust and to me that sounds good so I don't know what to think of the MBRP its really super loud at 3000rpm all I hear is bass and not much of anything else really disappointed to be honest..

Cobb makes one of the best sounding exhausts for this car IMO and I don't think you can go wrong with it. But, a cheaper and easier option may be to add a Vibrant 3" Ultra Quiet resonator or a Borla Pro XS to your MBRP...just check fitment first. I know Borla Pro XS mufflers flow incredibly well while muffling effectively, so that'd probably be my first choice if it will fit.

I couldn't have said it any better. I love my Cobb, but I have made many exhaust mistakes in my life, most of which were able able to be fixed with a resonator. You may not find this a perfect solution, but certainly worth trying vs another expensive exhaust.

I am also located in Canada. Are you located in Ontario? And seeing as you didnt like the MBRP would you be willing to sell it?

Thanks

Cichlid if you are not part of the "ST's of Ontario" on facebook I suggest you join. THat way you can ask some local STs to meet to hear their exhaust. The group is a mix of FiST and FoST. Good mature crowd. Same to you chewy11 Lots of STs in the Kitchener area.
