Light police...save it. This is for high beams only. Only to be used on desolate highways I travel on where I don't see any other cars.

Has anyone seen or messed with these? I was tempted to install some in my high beams. I'm not sure if they will melt the housing or wires. I figured the 100w are too much. I wanted to really throw some light down the road. See animals and overall safety. Thanks.

Which highway? US27 Okeechobee?
Heading west whether on Krome, US27, or Alligator Alley is all really dark. I didn't know there were 75 watt HID kits. Hope someone can chime in and give you some info. Have you looked into running an led light bar?

All of those, but mostly Alligator Alley. I usually cross in the middle of the night so blinding oncoming traffic isn't relevant. I stumbled upon it on eBay. 55w kits are prevalent in the market. 75w and 100w are more rare.

The LED bars or rally style lights aren't my thing.

The higher wattage will burn out the hid bulbs faster but that's not much of a concern because the usage will be relatively short.

The main concern is burning out wiring or housings. I was just seeing if anyone ran any high wattage bulb in the high beams. If they had any negative effects.

If you are worried about melting wiring, why not run an added relay and wires that handle the wattage you are looking for so the lights are powered off the battery directly. Then the plastic housing would be the only worry. Daniel Sterns lighting has what I am talking about for the added relay. I don't know if anyone can answer the melting housing concerns.

One of my earliest upgrades was to 100W H1 high beam bulbs. Limited use, work great when needed, nothing melted, no explosions, no X-men dark glasses needed.
