There's copies of everything now. This hardware, I bet, probably costs less than $5 to manufacture.

More rice, great if into it, cheaper than the one that pioneer this particular version.

1) the car does not have wing, it has a spoiler

2) butt dyno and aero butt dyno do not mean real improvements. I would bet 10 to 1 this hurts your fuel mileage and lessens overall rear grip, let us see some wind tunnel results or it is just ....rice.....

3) if you are into look at me more than real performance, go for it, into actual performance, likely best to pass on it

Best Chinese knockoff risers to go with best Chinese knockoff wheels. Excellent.

How do you feel about the "wing risers" compared to the 3D Carbon spoiler?

I had a great talk with the Ford Race shop manager at MMP about all this quite some time ago and the spoiler design would end up much worse with the 3D design.

If you want to do something like this you need to seal up the holes in the stock spoiler, no lips sticking up, just the one they have at the very end.

I was seriously interested in this piece until he explained what it would do, not good.

See my previous post, the car does not have a wing which gives a bit of a clue as to the nature of marketing such products, neither option makes any performance sense when looked at from the proper perspective.

Sometimes my comments are a bit harsher when read than my intentions when writing them and sometimes I get a bit wound up and spout off a bit more than I probably should. I has something to do with a lifetime of making things actually better, or in some cases attempting to and not turning out quite as expected, first and foremost over style and when a part is obviously made just for style it takes away from performance in most all cases.

Many are new to moding cars and have not yet learned there are companies making products, some with wild claims, some with more modest ones, some with no claims to performance gain but very very few ever admit not actually tested and just making parts to make a buck. I just want to help those not aware to make better choices, those that are more aware or just do not care as long as the car gets looked at more often or looks better just to them. I do not get it but it is not my car so go for it of course unless it is an unsafe mod like severe stance(might trigger a response here but that member does not have severe stance, not even really stance, just a bit overly lowered and maybe a bit of an over stretch on tires but nothing like the cartoon looking cars barely even drivable)

If I had to pick one over the other it would be the 3D and then cover the holes and smooth the airflow to the lip on it so it would do more than just cause turbulence as it does as it built.

If somebody offered to pay me to run the "spoiler risers" I would not accept it, just to far from my performance perspective mind to do so.

--------

All that yammering aside, if somebody took the time to do real validated testing and showed a performance gain and no negatives from either mod I would be more than happy to admit I was wrong and the support the products and even consider using one or the other but that is highly likely to never happen and highly likely not possible with them.

I am putting a real wing on my my car when I get the time to design the mounts but I plan to only run it on track.

I agree with ALL you have stated above, especially the last sentence, as the track is the ONLY place where the speeds would enable a properly designed, hopefully tested, and fully FUNCTIONAL wing to make any (positive) performance difference at all. [;)]

Of course, it would also have to be balanced with matched (weight bias adjusted) FRONT aero downforce as well.

Yes, it is a cosmectics forum but also this is an area where many do not think about the ramifications of untested mods and what it can do to lower the performance in one way or more and possibly make the car unstable in certain extreme situations. I for one would not want to put parts on my car that can induce undesired effects just because I like how it looks or how others like how it looks.

OP, If I were to go the wing riser route, this is the way I would go. I can't see how cheaper wouldn't be better in this situation.

Cheaper can mean lessor grade material, less quality control design and in machining, lower grade fasteners, even so it might not matter if true in this case. Boomba makes really great quality parts, just some of them are a bit out of the realm of what I would put on my vehicles.

If I had not already spend considerable time modding my shifter setup in five different places on the car I would of bought their SS kit to test out when it was released. I have not read much about it so far but it seems really well made and I would expect it to work quite well and hope it does:)

Thanks for that, as I plan to have it waiting for the car to arrive, and to install it that day!!
