Have you had any problems with heat/fuses/wiring etc running the 65w bulbs as opposed to the stock 55w? I'm quite interested in trying out this mod, but I don't want to run the risk of melting, shorting, or in some other way messing up my stock headlights and/or wiring. Thanks!

Regards,

-Matt

I am also wondering if anyone else has done this and if there were any heat problems.

I've had the H9s since September with no issues. Ten watts is not a problem. Running 100w bulbs could be an issue.

What H9 bulbs are you all running? I have ZXEs now just looking for little more output without going LED route

I heard that there is risk discoloring the little center shield in the center of the housing (because the tops of the bulbs are not dipped). When using the H9 do you see any discoloration in your headlight? particularly that small center section?

I picked up some PIAA H9s and installed tonight. The modifications to the H9 bulb only took me about 3 min each with some bicycle cable cutters and a red hot knife. Decent increase in output. We will see how longevity is affected
