I finally got the x47 experience. The other night Peletoneracer2 let me take his car for a little test drive. I just wanted to go along as a passenger but he let me drive it which was awesome! It was the first time I've ever been in a fiesta with a upgraded turbo. It was amazing! The power just keeps on going and going through the RPM range without any drop off. I even got into a race with a newer camaro. Pretty sure it was a V6 but those have over 300hp and run 13's so defiently not a slow car. I pulled on the camaro pretty good and afterwards the camaro guy pulled up next to us and rolled his window down. He literally said "What the F*%$?" and started clapping. I guess the fiesta surprised him....lol. I told him "Its just a fiesta". The x47 really transforms the car into a beast. And peletonracers car is on the corn too so Im guessing around 300whp.
Stories like this make me wanna go turbo upgrade even more. Car is surprisingly fast with 200 whp I can only imagine 300 with a broader power curve. Awesome story.

Hey jeff, when you say other owner talk about lag are they referring to the boost threshold being higher or is it a laggy turbo?

To answer your question I have a catless down pipe.

I'm not sure when the turbo will be installed. I also bought Pumaspeeds quick spool tubular manifold. I sent that out the Swain to get coated. I'm debating if I should install the turbo with the stock manifold and dyno it then afterwards install the tubular one to see if there are are benefits.

I think it’s slightly laggier than the X47 due to the upsized innards. Ish had both turbos and mentioned it on his YouTube channel. But I haven’t driven both so I’m just relating info. I will say that my local buddy with the X47R who also has the Puma manifold says there’s no spool difference between it and the X47 which he also owned prior. So maybe the manifold makes up for the slower spool and evens it out.

That’s a lot of work putting the turbo on and off but if you do I’d be interested to see if the spool is different. I have a ported stock manifold and my tuner said it wasn’t spooling any earlier than the folks who didn’t have a ported one. But the Puma header might be different.

I'm not worried about the extra work, I honestly think I can knock out the turbo swap in under 3 hours. What's holding me back is the tuning side of things. I would hate to get the car tuned and then have to get it retuned for the manifold.

Hi guys, do I need your help? Have any of you had problems or failures with the X47-R? my turbo was installed correctly less than 1 month ago (X47-R purchase in pumaspeed) and lately I noticed that my car votes white smoke through the exhaust, I also see a few drops of oil under my turbo (all hoses are tight), No I think it's normal ... Can you take a picture of where the oil is coming from? Did you replace gaskets or just re-use? How many miles on your car?

some specialists in the topic of tune have suggested to me that possibly the oil seal of the turbo is wrong, I see a little oil inside the propeller of the turbo and that is not normal nor I know how to correct this ... I appreciate the suggestions

Unfortunately I think they're right - blown oil seal on the turbo housing. Which explains the white smoke (burnt oil) and the drops coming from the turbo and NOT the fitting.

Crappy.

Looks like you're pulling the turbo off and sending it back for a rebuild - hopefully Pumaspeed will warranty the repairs for you... Unless you have the stock turbo and a stock tune, you're going to be without the car for some time.

Thanks for posting pictures - makes it very clear as to what's wrong. Your English is good enough for forums! ha!

I really do not know what to think, I had many expectations with this turbo and now it has broken down, well now I just hope that pumaspeed change this turbo or can give me a good guarantee

These fucking hybrids all I see are problems with them.
We don’t know for sure that the issue is truly the turbo. Someone installed it for him, he has no idea if it was done right.

My X47 has been flawless over 10,000 miles now.

Main reason I don't think I would ever go with one. I drive 20-25k a year. I need something that will be reliable and give me peace of mind.
So the big question is...Who really makes the most reliable/dependable aftermarket Turbos? I wish we could have some numbers
