CP-E Exhaust Manifold (Release TBD)

It?s no secret that we love the Ford EcoBoost vehicles. Even before they were called ?EcoBoost?, in the days of the Merkur, we?ve embraced these cars 100% and have committed to pushing the market on turbo Fords. The Focus ST was one of our fastest growing platforms and quickly matched the amount of product that we were offering for the Mazdaspeeds. When the 2.3L Mustang was released, we hit the ground running and pushed that car into a 9 second 1/4 mile before the Mustang EcoBoost was even 2 years old. With the Focus RS confirmed for the US, we placed one of the first orders and have developed an entire suite of products dedicated to moving this vehicle forward as quickly as possible.

Throughout all of these developments, it seems like one of the small 4 cylinder Fords has been forgotten. The truth is that Ford?s smallest EcoBoost offering is among the most fun and most capable cars to hold the EcoBoost title. Unlike all of the other 4 cylinder engines, this one has an exhaust manifold that isn?t integrated into the head, allowing for some creative development. With hours of CAD testing, flow analysis, and redesign, we?ve come up with an =LTRmani? for the Ford Fiesta ST. Currently we?ve only tested this manifold with the stock turbo, but the gains are still noticeable.

Here is an excerpt from the owner of our in house development car.

"We saw gains in the mid and high rpms with the stock turbo with the same tune. With some more time on the dyno, we suspect to get some more out of the manifold and then begin testing with larger turbos. Based on data from the runs we have, the manifold is flowing much more efficiently than the stock, unequal length manifold."

Designed for stock turbo & upgraded stock fitment turbos

  • Cast from T304 stainless steel
  • Cast in bosses for stainless heat shielding
  • Price - TBD

I had the BP racing (eBay) manifold for stock turbo.

My opinion, I would not spend money on the pumaspeed manifold or any other pricey exhaust manifold for stock turbo. The eBay one is actually decent quality and worked just fine.

I went big turbo and had a Sheepey built manifold made. It requires custom downpipe

I know you don't need one but what do you guys think about the airtec one, I can get a decent deal on one. I've been in contact with both pumaspeed and airtec

BPRacing makes a manifold. I haven't been able to find it recently though so it may not be made anymore? I'm also curious how much the CP-E manifold will cost.

As far as I know, my setup with the X-37 and quickspool tubular manifold have the fastest spool around compared to similar setups. I haven't seen too much data on the subject though. Just a few screenshots posted here and there.

Is the new X-47, with it's quick spool manifold, supposed to be/claimed to be any faster spooling (OR slower for that matter)?? [dunno]

Technically wouldn't any tubular manifold be a "quickspool" or is there something else in the design that makes boost build quicker?

The shortest runners is what makes it spoool quicker from what I understand because it keeps heat inside.

How good/bad was the quality of the BPracing manifold?

For the price it's great. I've personally had the BP racing, and a pumaspeed quickspool manifold.

Both have nice beefy flanges & fit good

BP: larger diameter runners, same design as pumaspeed

Pumaspeed: the runners are a joke IMO, measure less than 1" diameter. Better quality than the BP

I ran the BP manifold with my cyborg, it did not crack, or show any signs of weakness. I didn't even run the pumaspeed manifold. I sold it off and got a custom manifold built for big turbo instead

In all seriousness, ive compared v dynos with a friend of mine who had sourskittles ported manifold + cyborg to my BP racing manifold + cyborg.

The spool was pretty much identical. Give or take 150 rpms or so. When it comes to stock frame turbo, I don't think a different manifold is REQUIRED. If you want to go that route it makes for a nice bling piece that may slightly help spool. I think sour skittles ported manifold should also be considered.

I do have to say that I've been in contact with both pumaspeed and autospecialist/airtec, trying to figure out which manifold I want. Both companies have been very helpful, and get back to me in email less than 24 hours.

If you don't mind me asking, what are the prices of those manifolds?

The Airtec is $622 and the pumaspeed is $631. I actually can get 10%off the Airtec, but their shipping cost is outrageous, it's $180 to ship it to me which is crazy. I asked if they could help me and they said they would give me a refund of ?84 off the vat of the item. As of this moment I'm leaning towards the pumaspeed because of the lifetime warranty.

I'm eagerly awaiting the CP-E manifold. Combined with the x-47, I think it'll be a strong combo for the street.
